How much better could we be? The Istana is one attempt to answer that question. Combining the ancient and modern, The Istana allows technology and tradition to exist side-by-side. Modern bio-hacking methods (cryotherapy, sensory deprivation tanks, infra-red saunas, and hyperbaric chambers), are being utilised in tandem with meditation, yoga, and breathwork. Whatever it takes to create the optimum life, we are willing to find it, and share it with our clientele and community. We believe that world-class people, deserve world-class experiences. This is just where we facilitate them. Our aim is to provide a space where those seeking can not only find world-class services, but can explore how to apply these to themselves. Doing a rig check before offshore sailing? Here’s how we inspect our rigging before every passage. From the top of the mast, we check for cracked fittings, loose pins, corrosion, and halyard chafe — the small things that can turn into big problems at sea. We use a climbing harness (or a bosun’s chair works too), a figure 8 knot for extra security, and always a backup halyard. Clear communication and double-checking gear are key when one of you is literally hoisting the other up the mast.
