Introducing the soon-to-be-famous Salt Wharf Burger. This bad boy incorporates the science behind how to properly grind beef with the indulgent pleasure of gooey cheese oozing out the sides after a big bite. Chef Chris created this burger based on the classics requirements of a great burger -- quality meat, a soft yet structured bun, bacon, crunchy veg, sharp cheese, and of course the pickle and fries. This version may be more elevated than the backyard griller's recipe, but it hits all the marks. Salt Wharf is located in Camden, Maine at the Lyman-Morse marina.
Here we are rigging a reef line while underway. We had swapped the laminate main sail out for the Dacron main sail before leaving the dock, because it was quite windy and the Dacron sail is more robust. But we didn't rig the second reef line properly and had to pull it out in order to raise the sail. So here we are sailing under the first reef, while I climbed onto the boom to re-rig the second reef. I’m wearing a climbing harness attached to the spinnaker halyard for safety. This DeFever 44 is bound to catch the eye of anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, and capable cruiser—especially if you’re dreaming of long-range adventures or living aboard internationally. Designed by Arthur DeFever, a legend in the trawler world, this 44-foot flybridge motor yacht was his most popular model for good reason. It’s built tough with a solid fiberglass hull, a deep keel, and sturdy struts protecting the running gear, making it a seaworthy choice for tackling coastal waters. The displacement hull—steady and fuel-efficient—means you’re not burning through diesel like some lighter boats. You get a generous salon with a galley-up design—perfect for keeping the cook in the conversation—plus a full-beam master stateroom aft with a queen berth, ensuite head, and enough storage to settle in for months. The forward guest cabin has a V-berth for visitors, and the walk-in engine room is a mechanic’s dream—near stand-up headroom for easy maintenance. Add in the flybridge with its commanding views and roomy aft deck for lounging or entertaining, and you’ve got a boat that feels like a floating home without skimping on practicality. Owners love the walk-around decks for easy handling and the tender setup. For someone who values durability, comfort, and the freedom to roam, don’t let this one pass you by! https://www.yachtworld.com/yacht/1985-defever-44-trawler-9694624/
