Sometimes the best cruising stops are the ones you never planned! ⛵🌴 We sail out of Portsmouth, Dominica, hoping to make a quick hop around the coast and drop anchor just around the corner. But our anchoring plans don’t exactly go as expected… That little failure leads us to Coulibistrie, an unexpected hidden gem on Dominica’s wild west coast. We head ashore and are immediately welcomed by some of the friendliest locals we’ve met. Then we follow the river inland, surrounded by towering green mountains and a breathtaking canyon-like landscape. It’s raw, lush, peaceful and exactly the kind of place that makes us love exploring Dominica by sailboat. There’s just one problem… The anchorage is anything but peaceful. 😴🌊 Was discovering this little corner of Dominica worth a sleepless night aboard?
