We Sail to an Island left in ruins | our family of seven stumbles upon Fortune Island

This episode marks a huge milestone in our journey south. After months of island hopping through the Bahamas, we’re leaving Long Island and setting sail for the Acklin Islands—our final true island hop before the big push toward Great Inagua, the last island in the Bahamas. A change in our plans leads to Fortune Island. An Island left in Ruins, and rich in history beneath the beautiful white sands of it's beaches. From here, everything changes. The easy cruising gives way to long passages, bigger weather windows, and the excitement (and nerves) of preparing for the Windward Passage. As a family of seven living full-time aboard, these moments remind us why we chose this life—freedom, adventure, and seeing the world one sail at a time.
