Get knocked down nine times get up ten. This week we had to take a bit of our own medicine as we experience the snakes and ladders of buying and selling boats, sometimes the best laid plans go awry. We had followed a boat back to New Zealand, negotiating with the seller the whole way back. And just when we thought we had reached an agreement we were gazumped. It didn’t feel good. We also thought that we had sold our boat, but the surveyor picked up a couple of issues – that on further inspection turned out to be non-issues – but unfortunately by that time doubt had crept into the buyer’s mind and the sale fell through. Now we find ourselves back at square one. Where to from here? Finn has a rowing season just starting and we have plenty to keep us busy on the boat. Because if there’s one thing you can depend on there is always something to fix on a boats.
