Sheet to tiller steering, first attempt

For long single-handed voyages, it's not realistic to be holding the tiller for hours on end. It's too tiring. So what's the answer? Obviously I could buy an auto-pilot. But I'm really intrigued by sheet-to-tiller steering - as it doesn't consume any battery power, and to set it up requires only a few very basic bits and pieces. Sheet-to-tiller steering allows the boat to sail by itself & all you need is a few metres of line, a couple of blocks, and a few bungee cords. Very cheap & very simple. It just requires some practice. This is my first attempt at getting it to work. My second, follow-up attempt is here: https://youtu.be/90FvhnaLgxM The illustrations I show briefly are from a couple of books: Huntingford helm impeder - from "The Dinghy Cruising Companion", by Roger Barnes. Sheet-to-tiller diagrams - from "Get Real, Get Gone" by Rick Page.
