Overboard, Almost Lost at Sea! Ep. 28

We are so excited to get to Nassau! Just over a year ago we were here on one of the huge cruise ships and now here we are coming into the exact same bay, but this time on our very own sailboat! We have come so far and have worked so hard to get to this point of our journey! There wasn't a whole lot of wind while crossing from the southern Berry Islands to Nassau. We tried flying the spinnaker, but in the end that didn't really help and we ended up motoring most of the way. It took us about 6 hours to get there. At one point of the crossing we heard a small bang at the stern of the boat. Randall looked back and saw one of our large water bottles floating away from us in the water! We soon realized that we had left it on the swim platform the day before and had forgotten about it! We quickly turned around to retrieve. We were glad that we had chosen a bright yellow color for our bottle, b/c it made it easy to see in the dark navy blue water. Once we got to Nassau and made our way into the bay we radioed to Hurricane Hole Marina to request a slip for the night. We lucked out and got the last remaining slip available. Most marinas will charge by the length of your boat, so for us we were charged about $95 a night. Unfortunately no one told us the marina had amenities such as laundry, a pool, a lounge, etc. so we thought there weren't any. Which was a bummer. The internet also cost extra and was on the more expensive side, so we didn't pay for it. While checking in with the office we were told that while staying here we would be allowed a free pass to the Atlantis Water Park! This was a fun surprise for us! We had a lot of fun playing at the Water Park and would love to visit there again someday!
