After debating whether to head to Catalina Island in the rain, we decide to go for it. We learn a few lessons crossing the shipping lanes. Once at Avalon, we decided to return after a brief rest. A small craft advisory was scheduled for the next morning. Rather than get rained on and have an unpleasant return, we decided to take an evening passage back to Dana Point.
