Our Sailing Trip Got Hijacked by a Dolphin - The Most Famous in Turks and Caicos

🐬✨ We took Fred's brand-new SmartCat S280 out for a test sail in Turks and Caicos 🌊 and ended up swimming with a wild dolphin. His name is Jojo 🐬. He's a lone bottlenose who has lived in these waters for decades, known to everyone here as the neighborhood dolphin 🏘️. We spotted a fin off the hull 👀, Fred recognized him instantly, and we called out. Jojo came straight over and then stayed, trailing the boat like a dog that had picked its favorite person 🐕💛. Riding right alongside the hulls, close enough that we had to watch the rudder ⚠️. What followed wasn't in the plan for the day 😄. Just a wild dolphin, clear water 💧, and a new catamaran drifting quietly nearby. Nothing like the skittish dolphins we're used to in Florida. Out here it's a protected national park 🛡️, no fishing, no harassment, and the marine life knows the difference. Fred says Jojo once followed his boat for three hours straight ⏱️, then swam with them for two more. Then back to the sail ⛵: even though the wind wasn't strong 🌬️, she sailed well, the S280 doing exactly what she was built to do, before we brought her home to the owner's dock 🏡. Good boat 🚤.
