Our Boat is Born! Distant Shores III comes out of the mould

Our new Southerly 480 sailboat came out of the mould at the Discovery Yachts Shipyard in the UK last week and we were there to document it! In this latest update we show you the laying-up process for the hull of Distant Shores III, show the hull coming out of the mould, check out the unique swing keel and take a look at the “plug” for the new pilothouse cabin top. (A plug is a mock-up from which the final mould will be made.) We’ve been working with the design team on this new model of Southerly Yacht, the first one to be built by Discovery Yachts Group.
