NOT SO EASY! 😬 Ep.143 Building my steel sailing yacht

A Big and sincere thanks to Frans for putting together digital plans of THE actual Mistress! These are shown at the beginning and end of this video. I take a drive to the South side of Brisbane to collect great quality sound insulation from the good people at Vetus' Australasia-Oceania office and get a little gift from Andrew and Troy whilst there; I then get a good amount installed which come up very good; there has been a little 'trap door' needing to be made in one of the cabin-sole panels for access to one of the through hull ball valve's, which NO surprise was not as easy as first considered! And then I finally get back to work in the heads again including the start of some GRP/fibreglass taping - Yoooww! 😁 Mistress is designed by one of the highly respected Dutch naval arcitects E.G. Van de Stadt, a Caribbean design, length 40ft/12m, beam 13ft/3.9m, draft 5ft/1.5m. Her hull and decks are built in mild steel and I have built her on my own and am also fitting her out on my own. I have not built any type of boat before Mistress. There were many reasons why, but the work stopped,... However, the work has re-started, thankfully, and I am on an exciting journey to finish Mistress and then go on my sailing adventures,...
