OVERHEATING ENGINE FIX // In this episode, we diagnose the engine overheating issue we had while touring Penobscot Bay, check out a number of potential culprits and work towards a solution. 00:00 - Intro 00:20 - Recap of overheating issue 00:38 - Diagnosing the issue 01:58 - Cleaning the engine 03:38 - Replacing the heat exchanger 05:11 - Summary Tools I used to clean the engine: • Gloves • Shop towels • Microfiber towels • Small container for soapy water • Paint brush • Lighting (overhead, head lamp) • Adjustable inspection mirror • Bilge pads • Dawn Ultra dish detergent (I used a 10% concentrate/90% water mixture) I did not use these items when cleaning my engine this time, but others have used brake cleaner and wire brushes for removing tougher grime, rust, and peeling paint.
