Leaving Trinidad to the North - with unexpected problems...
Now that hurricane season is over, we’re finally back on the water! ⛵ After the work at the shipyard, we set off on our first leg, sailing north from Trinidad to Union Island. But the start is a real challenge: The strong northeast trade winds are blowing right against us, so we have to sail the entire route close-hauled. After the long break, however, unexpected problems arise—though they can’t be fixed until much further north. In this video, I’ll also share a practical tip from everyday sailing life: How do you safely move a heavy outboard motor from the deck to the dinghy—even on your own—without taking any unnecessary risks? Look forward to challenging sailing, honest insights into daily life on board, and helpful tips for all cruising sailors. Enjoy the video—and as always, I’d appreciate a thumbs-up, a comment, and a subscription if you like it! ⚓
