Leaving Our Boat After Extreme Weather Hits Spain

After three months tied up in A Coruña, we return to our boat full of hope, ready to start the sailing season early. ⛵️ But northern Spain has been hit by extreme weather, with relentless storms, strong winds, and very small weather windows. With just one day to move, we take our chance and leave the harbour. It quickly turns into a sail with headwinds and heavy rolling. When we finally reach Camariñas, the weather catches us once again, no clear forecast, just more storms on the horizon. ⛈️ So we make a different call. We leave our boat behind and switch to van life for a few days. Not because we’re giving up on sailing, but because we’d rather explore beautiful Galicia than sit and stare at weather forecasts.
