We have already been trekking for 2 days non stop up and down hills and through slippery trails( see last Episode 119). On this second part of the trek, we continued upwards , wading through streams and rivers, sometimes up to our waists. They told us it is not an easy hike and you have to be fit and now we could see why . The final hike to the top was actually the steepest part but when you reach the top , you can see why the Lost City was built here. It is a sacred place and we were glad to meet the shaman and for him to talk to us all and wish that we will do something to help care for this beautiful natural land. It was a good message to hold onto. Our tour company were amazed that this many children managed to complete the trek , all of us with smiles on our faces right to the end. They don’t ever remember leading a group with this many young children , we were so proud of them all. We used the tour operator Turcol and they were brilliant. Because of the size of our group ( about 30) we had two guides, two translators and two cooks, the food was excellent and not a single person from our group got sick. In addition, all the bedding and mosquito nets were clean and well maintained.
