Island Packet Factory in Florida Tour for Valentines Day The Boat Life sailing adventure travel vlog

For a Valentine's Day surprise, I took Nic to the Island Packet Yachts factory for a tour in Largo, Florida. We own a 1990 IP27. It was amazing to see the hand crafted detail and personal attention they put into each boat. The factory has four sections; Fiberglass, Hull/deck, Wood shop, and Assembly. We got to see each part of the sailboat; hull, IGU, headliner, and deck all separate. We also got to see how these items were assembled. Island Packet takes great pride in the quality of their boats. We loved to learn about the advancements in materials such as coosa board in the interior (as opposed to plywood or balsa core in other boats), and sapele wood on the interior (instead of Teak). This is The Boat Life. Nic Morganti and Melissa Auman are moving onto a sailboat. The plan was sell everything, buy a boat, live on a boat, and travel and explore the Caribbean and the world while living aboard! The uniform is boardshorts and bikinis.
