**On a boat like this, even installing a LIGHT SWITCH can turn into an all-day project. ЁЯШВ** After four weeks of working on the boat, weтАЩve learned a few things тАФ including some lessons about painting that we definitely wish weтАЩd learned sooner! IтАЩve been spending most of my time outside in the blazing summer sun working on the cabin top. After sanding down the gelcoat and filling the low spots in previous episodes, weтАЩve spent the last few weeks experimenting with rolling on our Alexseal topcoat. The good news? **It can be done!** The bad news? We discovered the hard way that every bit of fairing compound needs to be properly covered with primer before the topcoat goes on. OtherwiseтАж well, letтАЩs just say thereтАЩs more sanding in my future. ЁЯШм Meanwhile, Matt has been working on getting the cockpit ready for paint while jumping back and forth to the boatтАЩs electrical systems. And thatтАЩs where another surprisingly complicated project came up: mounting all of the light switches. Our previous aluminum boat made this job easy. This fiberglass catamaran? Not even close. Each switch location requires custom plugs, drilling, de-coring the foam, removing paint, glassing the plug into place, and eventually fairing and painting everything so the finished installation looks like it was always meant to be there. It's a lot of work for something you normally don't even think twice about! So grab a drink, settle in, and come see what we've been working on as we continue turning this giant fiberglass project into our home on the water. тЫ╡я╕П We hope you enjoy! 00:00 - Still only one video a month 00:36 - There is finish paint on the exterior! 04:54 - The 'in progress' cockpit 06:37 - Outdoor work recap 07:43 - The 'simple switch' for our luxury lights 09:50 - Measure & drill 11:36 - de-coring and sanding (the real pain) 13:17 - glassing in the plug 14:19 - Finish product after ALL that work! 16:01 - Closing
