Boat jobs in beautiful Bay of Islands, NZ | CAT 1 S5:E7

It's often said that owning or living on a boat is just “doing boat projects in exotic places,” and in this vlog that's exactly what we are doing! If you consider New Zealand an exotic place lol! In reality we are full swing into preparing for our offshore passage to Fiji in about 6-8 weeks time. As New Zealanders owning a NZ registered boat that means we need to get our Category 1 Safety Certificate which is basically a huge checklist of very sensible things you should have on your boat before going offshore, most of which we already had in our 3 years sailing half-way around the world and a lot of which we didn't, while it's all good stuff sometimes this expensive and time consuming list feels like a bit of an overkill but if we ever want to leave the country on Nikau again we have to tick the boxes!
