We are launching into planking soon but before we get into all that, we really wanted to do a little house cleaning video. We get so many questions about the project and it's not always easy to address them all in the subsequent videos. So, right now seemed like a good time to answer a few of those questions and clear them up before moving into another chapter of the build. We'll be talking about the weight of the floors, the engine, how we measure in the vessel, talk about one of our friend's restoration projects, a few new major tools we were just kindly donated, what rig we are going with and why.... and finally, we address the common comment about replanting trees. We love the fact that you all have such good questions regarding the build and are that engaged with what we are doing. We love sharing this and hope that you enjoy the information in this video despite the lack of work being shown. Trust us, there is PLENTY of fun stuff coming up! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella is a boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building their own 38' wooden boat in their backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are also launching our newest shirt campaign for summer of 2019 which will feature the planking tools on the back. If you are interested in purchasing those, orders will be taken at the link below for the next two weeks and then shipped once the campaign closes. Thank you for the support!! This will help us buy our new diesel engine!! http://www.bonfire.com/acorn-to-arabella-summer-planking-shirt-1 ____________________________________________________________________ Follow Andrew’s Project!
