17-11_Mighty Merloe - Aboard the fastest Sailboat on the Westcoast (sailing ZERO)

Ahoy, during my time in Hawaii, I met Jacques on the french legendary raceboat HYDROPTERE.. (see the video https://youtu.be/jTwFpX70r-4) He is a professional skipper and has lots of experience with high end raceboats. This time I have the honor to sail Mighty Merloe, another very fast trimaran from San Diego to Newport Beach, Where it will compete in the Newport to Cabo Race. We had light winds but with only a small breeze this boat accelerated so quick and we almost sailed twice as fast as the windspeed.. No wonder that this boat beat the record for the transpac this year with an elapsed time of 4 Days, 6 Hours, 33 Minutes, 30 Seconds.!!! Beating the 20 year old record of Bruno Peyron's Commodore Explorer by more than a day, previously set at 5 days 9 hours 18 min and 26 secs Enjoy this exotic adventure.
