Extreme Sailing Series™ 2015: Lino Sonego Team Italia, c'è molto lavoro da fare. The Wave, Muscat vince l'Act 2 nelle acque di casa.

With Covid 19 in full force we discovered that the sailing community around St Vincent and the Grenadines was near non existent. In this week we enjoy the paradise of this part of the Caribbean to mostly ourselves. The few people that are around are like minded sailors in the same situation we are. Bluewater cruisers living out there dream sailing the world. There is something about the yachting community that is just overly friendly and almost family like. The links and IP address shown in the video were only valid during the making of the video and are now void. I use no-ip in this video which a paid for service, however there is also a free option which needs to be refreshed every 30 days.

Charlie Dalin aboard Macif Santé Prévoyance is on the verge of taking a spectacular win for the 10th Vendée Globe as he and Yoann Richomme aboard Paprec Arkéa approach the finish in Les Sables d'Olonne after 24,000 miles alone around the world. It's never over until its over as they say, but barring a disaster Dalin looks set to win the race that he took line honours in four years ago. He is expected to finish on Tuesday in a lap of the planet that will have taken 65 days, smashing the previous record. Matt Sheahan anticipates the final winning move in this extraordinary race while looking at a pecking order that is still being fiercely fought over behind. We caught up with Finn sailor Giles Scott and the new 470 women's pairing of Sophie Weguelin-Eilidh McIntyre who extended their leads on day 4 in Palma - the first day of gold fleet racing.
Conditions on the penultimate day of the RC44 Virgin Gorda Cup turned volatile, with 30 knot gusts and intermittent torrential downpours causing dramatic fluctuations in the wind. As a result just two races were held before a bigger, more intense deluge dumped its load on the North Sound race course causing racing to be abandoned for the day. Despite the tricky weather, star performer today was John Bassadone's Peninsula Petroleum with a 1-2, elevating them to second overall, five points behind the ever-consistent leader, Artemis Racing. But all eyes are also on the RC44 Fleet Race Championship which will be decided tomorrow. At present Vladimir Prosikhin's Team Nika, leader going into this regatta is in danger of losing the championship to Bronenosec Sailing Team. Who beats who tomorrow will determine the outcome…
