오늘은 레이싱 요트 딜리버리용 메인세일의 아웃홀을 연장하기 위해 다이니마 시트(로프)로 스플라이싱을 했다. 가장 기본적인 아이 스플라이싱만 할 줄 알지만, 곧 소프트샤클 만드는 법도 배워보고 싶다. 레이싱 요트, 참 신기한 세계다. 이렇게 단순한 작업으로 완성된 한 줄의 시트(로프)가 수백, 수천 킬로의 하중을 견딘다니, 볼 때마다 놀랍다. 레이싱 대회를 앞두고 정비할 것들을 하나씩 진행하고 있다. 올해 마지막 레이싱을 준비하며, 야생마 같은 이 레이싱 요트와 조금은 더 가까워질 수 있지 않을까 싶다.
