Hvad skal du bruge: - spaghetti - Æg - Pecorino (parmesan som alternativ) - Peber - Guanciale (Bacon eller pancetta som alternativ) Den sværeste del er at få æggecremen integreret med spagettien uden at æggene bliver for varme og bliver til scrambled eggs. Mit trick er at sørge for panden er varm, uden at være alt for varm, og så blande det hele sammen uden varme på panden. Hvis massen ikke bliver cremet kan man forsigtigt tænde for varmen, men pas på, da æggene hurtigt bliver til scrambled eggs. Det hele skal røres super godt sammen og tilsæt godt med pastavand. Stivelsen deri får det hele til at integrere sig og blive cremet. Det praktiske: En god ret at lave på en båd med induction, da den er relativt billig at lave i strømforbrug. Leaving the calm of the Casamance River was the easy part. Getting Galopin safely to Dakar with a torn Genoa and a "toy" storm sail was a different story. In this episode: •The Bar: Navigating the treacherous mouth of the Casamance. With only 5 meters of depth miles offshore, the breaking waves were a constant threat to capsize us. •The "Toy" Sail: My big Genoa is gone. I’m crossing open water with a used main and a tiny storm sail. No motor noise, no vibration, and no fear of a tangled prop. Surprisingly, Galopin found his stride, giving us 6 hours of pure, silent sailing bliss. •The Invisible Minefield: Darkness brings a new set of obstacles. Fishing buoys and nets are everywhere, and catching a line in the prop means diving under the hull in the dark—something I desperately wanted to avoid. •The Laser Game: Out of the dark, a green laser tagged my sails. Then, six massive spotlights blinded me. Fishermen guarding their nets or a phantom Coast Guard? I had to steer off-course and hope they wouldn't follow. •Surreal Beauty: Despite the stress, the ocean provided a light show. The hull was cutting through clouds of blue bioluminescence, a spellbinding sight that video never quite captures perfectly. •The Cat Nap: Sleep is a luxury you can't afford. My night was a cycle of 20-minute alarms—wake up, check the AIS, scan the horizon for unlit boats, and repeat. •Night Terrors: The Gambian coast is a minefield of fishing nets and unlit buoys. Just as the bioluminescence began its surreal light show, I was targeted by green lasers and strobe lights. Not the most exciting bit of kit onboard… but absolutely critical. 🔧 Why This Matters If you think about it, jubilee clips are everywhere on a boat: Engine cooling systems Fuel lines Freshwater systems Bilge pumps Exhaust hoses Anywhere you’ve got a hose… you’ve probably got a clip holding it in place. And if that clip fails—especially below the waterline—you’re not just dealing with a leak… 👉 You could be dealing with a sinking boat. ⚠️ What We Cover in This Video In this D-Log, I break down everything you need to know, including: Why jubilee clips fail (corrosion, vibration, poor quality, overtightening) The difference between cut-out and grooved thread clips Why cheaper clips can actually damage your hoses The key differences between 304 and 316 stainless steel Why 316 (especially 316L) is the only real choice for marine use Why anything below the waterline should ALWAYS be double clipped 🛠️ Simple Checks That Could Save Your Boat This is one of those jobs that takes minutes… but could prevent a disaster. ✔ Check for corrosion or rust ✔ Look for pitting or sharp edges ✔ Make sure clips are tight (but not overtightened) ✔ Upgrade to 316 stainless grooved clips where needed ✔ Double clip all below-waterline hoses 💡 Final Thought It’s easy to ignore the small stuff onboard… But often, it’s the smallest components that cause the biggest problems. It began subtly—an occasional slip, a momentary hesitation. Then the winches grew stubborn, sticking and losing their reliability. A sailboat without trustworthy winches is little more than a motorboat, so the situation demanded attention. These winches are only two years old, always protected, yet Lewmar reminded us that even well kept gear needs annual care. I’d dreaded the task, but the EVO design makes servicing surprisingly simple. Armed with winch grease, pawl oil, and a spare parts kit, I took them apart piece by piece. Ninety minutes per winch, most of it spent cleaning away the hidden grime. When it was done, the winches spun smooth and strong again—and I gained both confidence and experience. Arrival of the Birds” Copyright The Cinematic Orchestra There are no trees at the North Cape because the tree line is about 150 kilometers further south. The climate is too cold, too windy, and the growing season is too short for trees to survive. Instead, the landscape is mostly covered with grass, moss, lichens, and low shrubs. The road to the North Cape was first opened in 1956, when the connection from Honningsvåg to the North Cape was completed • The North Cape is a cliff on the island of Magerøya in northern Norway. • It lies in Nordkapp municipality, in Finnmark, Norway. • The viewpoint rises about 307 meters above sea level • It is about 2,100 kilometers south of the North Pole. • Since 1999, it has been the northernmost point in Europe reachable by road from the mainland. • It is one of Norway’s best-known tourist attractions, with the iconic globe monument as a symbol • In summer, the sun can stay up all night for several weeks, while in winter there is polar night.

A peaceful afternoon at anchor suddenly turned into one of the most dramatic incidents I've witnessed in years. What I first thought was a catamaran anchoring too close to SV Impavidus turned out to be something far more serious. With nobody on board, the yacht had dragged its anchor and was drifting backwards across the harbour in strengthening winds—heading directly towards a line of old steel and concrete piles. I wanted to help. I lowered the dinghy and seriously considered going after her, but with around one-metre waves inside the harbour, 28-knot winds and gusts over 30 knots, attempting a rescue alone would have been putting my own life at risk. Instead, I tried everything else. • Repeated calls on VHF Channel 16. • Calls to the harbour authorities. • Long blasts on the foghorn. No response. Eventually another skipper contacted the marina, who alerted the Italian Coastguard. A large rescue RIB arrived and managed to prevent what could easily have become a total loss. Incredibly, during the incident the drifting catamaran also hooked my own anchor and dragged SV Impavidus from her position—something I only discovered later. It was one of those days that reminds us how quickly things can change at anchor, and why every skipper should understand the risks of dragging anchor and leaving a boat unattended. Kennengelernt haben sich die drei über Claus' Musik und Filme, unter anderem den Song "Lass Los" und das Video "Die Route der Wikinger". Michael erzählt, wie er vom klassischen Motorbootfahrer zum Segler wurde. Den entscheidenden Moment hatte er 2022 auf den Åland-Inseln, als sein Boot als einziges Motorboot zwischen lauter Segelbooten lag. Daraus entstand die Idee für ein eigenes Expeditionssegelboot aus Aluminium mit rund 39 Fuß Länge. Die erste Werft, die er beauftragte, ging insolvent, das Projekt platzte komplett, inklusive geplantem Taufkonzert mit Claus in Kiel. Michael musste bereits geleistete Anzahlungen von Kunden zurückzahlen. Mittlerweile gibt es einen neuen, unterschriebenen Vertrag für ein Boot, die Fertigstellung ist für 2028 angepeilt. Aus dem Rückschlag heraus ist Northbound Sailing entstanden, eine Plattform, die Segelanbieter im Norden und in hohen Breiten bündelt, darunter auch Clemens' Ocean Life Törns. Michael verzichtet dabei bewusst auf ein Provisionsmodell und ist am eigentlichen Vertrag zwischen Kunde und Anbieter nicht beteiligt.
