Brigitta war natürlich vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben passte als in meins. In den folgenden 6 Monaten hat Brigitta aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich über unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Insgesamt sind wir aktuell 4 ½ Jahre unterwegs. Ein Abenteuer folgt dem nächsten und wir genießen jeden Tag aufs Neue. This week marks the beginning of a whole new chapter in our sailing adventure. We finally transferred everything we own from GOAT 1.0, our beloved Bavaria 44, into GOAT 2.0, our newly purchased Lagoon 400 catamaran. It’s amazing how much stuff a sailboat accumulates over time—and moving it all was no small task. Finding a place for everything on a catamaran is both an art and a challenge. But little by little, GOAT 2.0 began to feel like home. Once we had all our belongings aboard, we dove into the biggest job of all: the complete electronics installation and migration. ⚓ NEW ELECTRONICS INSTALLED ON GOAT 2.0 Icom MA-510TR Class B AIS Transponder The Icom MA-510TR is a full-featured Class B AIS transceiver with a built-in GPS receiver, target list display, collision alarm, and integrated DSC functionality. I had this old low resolution video of some home improvement projects I did when I was living in California. I got rid of the copyrighted music soundtrack and added some quick text to describe what was going on. I remodeled the townhome by painting, replacing the flooring (including the stairs, which were a high traffic area), painted, and baseboards. I remodeled the home by getting rid of the popcorn ceiling, reconfigured some walls/studs, drywall, texture, painting, slab repair, laid 18" travertine in the high traffic areas, replaced a sliding glass door with a door, replaced all the doors and jambs, all new kitchen cabinets, countertops, sinks, fixtures, lighting. Funny story, I put a fence in so I could store my toys in the backyard. A neighbor complained to the city. I was told I had to put a driveway in, I couldn't drive across my lawn. I didn't want to put a driveway in, I liked my grass, so I parked my toys on the street, since that was legal. Just had to move them for street sweeper day. I bet the neighbor regretted complaining to the city about my fence after that!
