Fellow boaters - I'm thrilled to share my latest project with you: MaintenanceROS! Crafted from my experiences aboard Starry Horizons, it's designed to simplify vessel and maintenance management, making life on the water even more enjoyable. Explore https://MaintenanceROS.com and enjoy an exclusive 20% discount for the first 6 months using promo code 'outchasingstars'. Seamlessly manage your boat's upkeep – let's embark on this journey together! ***** The weather was getting a bit too cold for our liking, so rather than continuing south, we cut over to the east side of the South Island. First stop was in Christchurch where we got to see an awesome museum exhibit on the 75 year history of Air New Zealand, complete with a virtual reality look at the future of air travel! Amy also couldn't pass up the opportunity to check out the botanical garden, filled with beautiful flowers and even an herb and veggie garden! After Christchurch we drove up to Blenheim to attend the Marlborough Food and Wine Festival. This festival had been circled on our calendar ever since we arrived in New Zealand and it was well worth the wait! I'm still amazed we managed to walk out on our own two feet! To follow along with our up to date cruising adventures, please subscribe to our YouTube channel and check out our blog and Facebook page: http://www.outchasingstars.com https://www.facebook.com/outchasingstars Thanks for watching!
Today's vlog: So far we did not really do snorkeling or freediving in Djibouti. But we met with Moussa, one of the rare freedivers of Djibouti, and he loves it! We explore the under water world of Djibouti together at Ras Ali and Sable Blanc. Yess we are doing a GIVEAWAY!! Win a full week on board of Messenger for 2 persons. check the details in/under DailyVlog 25 This journey is only a small part of our trip that started 2 years ago. We got the sailing- skills on our friends yacht 'Shalom' when we joined them on a trip from the Netherlands to Spain. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtDOpi7ydzdcRK1H7fEiQFQ . In Spain we decided to go with our own boat, and in no time we were the happy owners of 'Messenger'. We left may 2018 and started vlogging from the beginning, we made 15 minute video's of our adventures, the nature and the many special people we met. We cooperated with OM to visit their projects and film them on our way. Since 19 of March we started with a daily vlog due to the corona situation. We plan to keep doing this the coming months.

Turns out, the entire coast of Portugal is a trap! :) Every time there is a Westerly winds 15-20kns or more (pretty much always after September), the waves are huge and most of the ports alone the coast are closed. And they can be closed for days and days! I've spend one week in Porto, Portugal waiting for the weather window. There were constant rain, wind and waves, but it was a pleasant experience nevertheless. I'll miss Porto!
We hope you enjoy it! As always, thanks for watching. Sincere thanks to Charlotte Rockstar Jones for composing and recording Te Tāiko's theme song. After years of being career focused, we decided it was time to shake things up and sought a lifestyle that would provide us with new experiences, humble us, allow us to visit remote locations, and experience new cultures. In 2021, we traded our regular suburban lifestyle for a nomadic one and moved aboard our sailboat, Te Tāiko, a Chico 40. After three years sailing in New Zealand and preparing for Category 1 (regulations for New Zealand registered vessels planning to sail offshore), we set sail from New Zealand to Fiji on the 23 May 2024. This would be Vicki and Tāiko's first ocean passage and Adam's third. We have since sailed to Vanuatu and New Caledonia, where we will be during the cyclone season. We fund our lifestyle by working part time. This sometimes involves returning to New Zealand to help top up the bank account. The other avenue is through our content creation where we document our journey though YouTube videos and our our social media accounts and website. We would love for you to follow our progress as we navigate a nomadic lifestyle. If our content is something that you enjoy, please consider supporting our channel. A year later we are sharing information that we wish we knew when we crossed the Pacific from Panama to French Polynesia. We hope that this is helpful to anyone following in our footsteps! #panama #frenchpolynesia #marquesas #pacificcrossing #coconutmilkrun #crossing NEW TO OUR CHANNEL? We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures! HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US? If you wish to support our video efforts, all we ask is that you SUBSCRIBE, give a THUMBS UP, SHARE our videos with your friends, AND COMMENT! WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET TO KNOW US MORE DEEPLY?
