Ep 48 – Provision Boxes Galore / Sailing Free Spirit We have some wasted space between the floor beams and the hull… since there is never enough storage space on a boat for food – Andy made 4 new provision boxes that will hold more supplies for our voyages. This will come in handy as we start our adventure however, in the meantime, its wonderful to just try it out and see just how much food and snacks we can actually fit on the boat. This is definitely a good thing and it’s actually a pretty good amount of space. Box 1 is filled with snacks, cookies, chips, candy etc, Box 2 is filled with juice and jarred food, including Peanut butter and jelly, Box 3 is pasta, rice and side dishes, Box 4 – currently has soda however, this will be replaced by something else later as we just needed to soda and drinks out of the way while we are still working on the boat. A first cruise is always memorable but taking the helm of Dazcat 10 Belladonna to the Isles of Scilly made it unforgettable. Join us on Dazcat 10 Belladonna’s very first cruise with her new co-owner (me, Dazcat Media!) as we sail to the beautiful Isles of Scilly. Until now, my only time on board had been during races with my co-owner Will R, so this was my first real chance to take command, learn her systems, and find out what Belladonna is really like to handle and when passage making. Nervous? Absolutely. But sometimes the best way to learn is just to go for it… even if that means a night passage across the Celtic Sea! We weren’t sailing alone: Dazzle, Nemo, and other friends from the Multihull Centre were also heading west, with Belladonna’s former owner and our @themultihullcentre Multihull Centre yard manager close by if I ran into trouble (which, yes, I did - cue a low-battery panic and a crash course in starting up the generator mid-passage!). The Isles of Scilly turned out to be paradise: sunshine, dolphins, great company, and, best of all, a surprise gathering of 11 Multihull Centre boats, including six Dazcats, for a beach BBQ and bonfire. What started as a nervous first outing became an unforgettable reminder of the amazing community that surrounds these boats. On board with me were: Will L., a hugely experienced multihull sailor and the perfect calm presence. Poppy, our enthusiastic and practical young yard hand, new to multihulls but an absolute star crew. This cruise was the start of a new chapter with Belladonna, and I’m already looking forward to the next adventure with her.

Our North Raja Ampat cruise was pure joy — mantas, turtles, wobbegong sharks, reef sharks, and endless schools of fish! In this new series of The Rogue Rigger I take you along on our campaign to go to the 5o5 World Championships in Hayling Island, England. The worlds start in July of 2026 so we have just a year and a half to go. Follow Mike and I on our journey to get to the world championships, from boat upgrades, practice days, regattas, debriefs and some shenanigans along the way. In this episode we take you onboard our 505 for a training session out of the Alameda Community Sailing Center on a beautiful October day. We got our hands on some new tech to try out on the boat, a Vakaros Atlas 2, Cyclops Marine Nano Load Cell and a new GoPro 13 with GPS. So now that we have this tech what do we do with it? Well you upload all the video and data onto Njord Analytics which enables you to sync up the data with the video so you can do some in depth training debriefs. This video is my first attempt at using the program so bear with me while I figure out the best way to share it with my viewers and get the info I need to sail faster. Good times!

🌴 Sailing from St. Thomas to the British Virgin Islands! | Cooper Island, The Baths & Bitter End Adventure 🌊⛵ We’re saying goodbye to beautiful St. Thomas and setting sail for the British Virgin Islands (BVIs)! 🇻🇬 Before leaving, we dinghy into town one last time for lunch and to grab our final Amazon packages (yes, you can actually get Amazon deliveries in St. Thomas — island life perks!). After checking out of St. Thomas and clearing into West End, Tortola, we spend the night on a mooring ball before heading to Cooper Island to meet up with our friends on Optimist Creed (and borrow their washing machine 😅). From there, the adventure continues — our friends Tammy and Raymond arrive (they even brought us parts, groceries, and fun goodies for the kids — like Christmas on the boat!). We explore, relax, and enjoy all that Cooper Island has to offer before making our way to the iconic Baths on Virgin Gorda — one of the most incredible spots in all the BVIs. The Baths are a natural maze of massive granite boulders, tunnels, and tidal pools — a truly magical place we got to experience nearly all to ourselves. And the best news? Raymond (our onboard mechanic extraordinaire!) fixed our broken washing machine — just in time for our next passage to St. Martin! Aurora Reservoir is a city park in the City of Aurora, CO. The park features a sandy swim beach, nice 3 lane boat ramp, clean restroom facilities and nice picnic areas. The reservoir is electric motor and hand-powered watercraft only...no gas outboards permitted. The Precision 16 is a lightweight Stephen Seaton-designed un-ballasted centerboard sailing dinghy with a planing hull manufactured from 1982 until the mid 90s. It was superseded in 1995 by the smaller Jim Taylor-designed Precision 15 (P-15CB and P-15K).
