In this episode, we get to Grenada and splash our catamaran, Boketto, after an entire year on the hard. The boat is cosmetically looking wonderful, and there are no uninvited guests or smells that have taken hold in our absence. However, on the list of things that don't work, we include: the generator, the watermaker, the dinghy motor, the new solar array (operator error), a VHF radio, the oven (which is a hazard anyway in the tropics), the plancha (our outdoor "blackstone" cooking surface), our wind speed monitor that lives at the top of the mast, and some other things that I can't even remember. By the end of the first week, we'd only managed to get the solar array queued in with our systems, and have made the aircons *mostly* operational. phew. All the while, living at the dock in Clark's Court Marina and trying to get out and enjoy life in this beautiful place! #liveaboardlife #sailinglife #boatlife #grenada

See video "Sailing Vessel Messenger Coming Home" for part 1 from San Francisco Bay to Neah Bay. We left San Rafael California on September 18th 2016. Had MANY delays along the way and arrived home October 19th 2016. Had all gone well and the weather were on our side the hole way, we could have made it in 7 to 9 days stopping only for fuel. Our average speed under power was 6 to 7 knots. We did very little sailing due to the direction of the winds.

For offroad and outdoor filming, the GoPro is the ideal tool. However, when you also want to record sound or voice during that time, the GoPro has a much harder time. Because of the waterproof plastic casing, the sound and voices are blocked from the internal microphone. Especially when we go sailing, we hear harsh noises from the wind and I hope this will resolve that problem. That's why I have bought a budget external microphone with a dedicated GoPro holder. This is a very good solution for outdoors. However, if it gets wet, than you have to go back to the plastic box. This microphone is compatible with GoPro 4, 3+ and 3.
