In this episode, Breaking Her In: Our First Sail of the Season, We rock the swimwear, put up the sails then leave on a 2 day 60 Nautical Mile journey from Halifax to Sambro rounding Chebucto Head reaching 10 to 15 foot ocean swells, becoming sea sick, and putting into a mooring for the night. The next day we retrace our steps with an amazing and beautiful downwind sail in calm waters and a safe return. The diver who paid us a visit was the Sambro Port Authority doing routine checks of all the moorings in the area. Fun in FUNAFUTI - Chillin’ with the DOLPHINS! We settle into life in Funafuti, Tuvalu. After the rainy weather blows through, we up anchor and set off to explore the southern part of the lagoon. We drop anchor at Funafara Island and it's absolutely beautiful. We kayak and paddle board and generally chill out, enjoying the peace and quiet of being the only boat in the village. We even get to swim with a playful pod of spinner dolphins. Life doesn't get much better. Yesterday we sailed from Highborne Cay to Shroud Cay in the Exumas of The Bahamas! We had quite the scare when we noticed something was burning down below as we were coming in to anchor! The following day we went exploring on our dinghy and found some incredible places to explore! The sand on Shroud Cay was extremely soft and felt like we were walking in cake batter or deep warm snow. One of our favorite things about this area of Shroud Cay was the crescent sharped sand bar with the perfect lagoon in the middle.
