Nous sommes toujours à bord de Sea Pearl, notre fidèle catamaran, voguant entre les lagons turquoise des Tuamotu. Le clapotis de l’eau contre les coques, le souffle régulier de l’alizé dans les voiles… Tout est calme et pur ici. Après quelques jours paisibles à l’ancre, nous débarquons sur une île sauvage où Jaco un habitant local nous propose un crabe coco. C’est un véritable festin. Sa chair, tendre et parfumée, a le goût même du lagon.👍 Plus tard, nous allons vers le village principal de Fakarava. Au détour d’un sentier bordé de bougainvilliers, une église surgit, comme dans un rêve : simple, blanche, mais recouverte de milliers de coquillages, agencés avec une précision incroyable. Des bénitiers, des porcelaines, des coraux sculptés en motifs floraux habillent les murs comme une dentelle marine. On reste un long moment à contempler ce lieu, à la fois sacré et profondément ancré dans le lagon. Et puis vient la détente. Nous repartons en annexe jusqu’à la plage du requin dormeur, une langue de sable isolée, bordée de palmiers courbés et d’eau cristalline. L’endroit porte bien son nom : dans quelques centimètres d’eau, des petits requins dormeur glissent sans hâte. Le soleil descend lentement, caressant l’horizon d’or et de rose. On s’allonge sur le sable, les yeux fermés, bercés par la chaleur du jour et le murmure de l’océan. C’est simple. C’est beau. C’est la vie à bord de Sea Pearl, dans les Tuamotu.🌴😍😍🌴

Don’t miss this interview with Paul Hesse. He tells of his sailing adventures on a Viking ship across the Atlantic and North Sea; going on the old Norse route from Norway to Greenland in a 40 ft. sailboat; and some of his heavy weather experiences on Lake Superior. What he did and saw was extraordinary. The Viking ship unfortunately cracked a plank in the North Atlantic. With a large pump to keep ahead of the incoming water, the crew successfully caulked the plank. However, it required close watching and continuing maintenance. There was, of course, consideration to turn back towards Newfoundland, but the Norwegian skipper just declared: “No! No! No! We’re going to Norway!” And they did. However, Hesse thought his sailing voyage from Norway to Greenland was even more interesting than his Viking voyage. The experience, as well as the scenery, was spectacular. He also touches on sailing Lake Superior with family and friends. He has been out there in some of the heavy weather for which the upper Great Lake is so infamous.

Tahiti to Moorea Rendezvous on Annecam is episode 11 for 2016. You will see Annecam sailing in our first flotilla of 75 yachts. We were told that it was not a race, haha it was almost full on as we neared the finish. We managed to get up to third outright near the end and we finished in 5th place. It was a great social event and very well run.

Max the flying, frisbee catching, wonder dog! Houston Humane Society shelter rescue dog, they said he was a street stray somebody dropped off. Mostly border collie, he's made it through heart worms and sego palm poisoning.

La 7e édition de l’ENGIE KITE TOUR, Coupe de France FFVL (Fédération Française de Vol Libre) de Kitesurf Speed Crossing, a lieu du 9 juin au 22 octobre 2017 autour de 4 étapes clés sur les plages du littoral français. Cette compétition, soutenue par le Groupe ENGIE depuis 2010, est devenue incontournable et très attendue par l’ensemble de la communauté des kitesurfers avec en moyenne 80 riders inscrits, en provenance de toute la France. La deuxième étape s’achève sur la Côte d’Opale où les riders inscrits ont allié vitesse, engagement et technicité sur un parcours balisé par des bouées formant un «W» au large dans la baie de Saint Jean. Les organisateurs et les riders ont dû s’armer de patience car les conditions de vent étaient particulièrement capricieuses durant toute la durée de cette deuxième étape. Après une première journée sans vent vendredi, les conditions météorologiques de samedi ont permis de valider 2 manches sous 15 nœuds.
