We went to sailing school in February so that we could do this. We rented a sailboat and we're sailing in the Grand Traverse Bay. Day 3 daily recap: We had many more firsts!! Had a good night in Northport Harbor Marina. Cleaned up in the marina facilities* and it was very nice. Had coffee and breakfast on the boat. We got "pumped out and gassed up"* in the marina then sailed out of the cove for awhile into the rain.* After an hour or so, we decided to motor the rest of the way to Omena Bay where we hooked up to a mooring ball.* The adventure keeps going!! In this episode we leave The Great Sandy Straits and head across the infamous Wide Bay Bar sailing through the night to enter Moreton Bay and anchor at The Sandhills. During one of our nights there we endure a thunderstorm, heavy rain and a lightning display.

The boat was really brand new and a great boat. The operating manual was well put together with pictures and explanations in detail making it easy as a reference. All necessary items were on board. We called once for service assistance as the AC lines had to have the air bled from the lines, was able to get easy help on the phone (provided Lime mobile) and fixed the issue easily, in just a few minutes. Sailing characteristics were good, the boat was solid in the wind and once moving it tracked well. At slow speeds the high freeboard had to be managed with respect to the wind, however that high freeboard gave excellent below deck headroom and accomodations so well worth it.
