Episode 10: Sopat Cave In this episode we stepped deep into the bowels of the earth and explored an epic cave. In last week’s episode we highlighted the waterfall which was present because of the high rains we had the prior week. When we drove by again the waterfall had dried up and left Sopat Cave for us to explore. So we did a quick assessment and feeling the draw for adventure and exploration we decided to come back with torches and ropes to venture further in. Join us as we make our way into the Sopat Cave in Risan Montenegro, possibly discover a cycloptic cave troll, an old man and uncover an amazing emerald pool. We find some of the purest water on earth as the water filters through the rocks and makes its way through the mountains. We discover plenty of Stalactites, Stalagmites and natural rock formations a real treat to the eye. It was a very different start to the Hobart race in 2023. The old adage ‘Out the heads and turn right’ was very loosely interpreted on Boxing Day, with the fleet scattering across a 90 degree arc as they left the harbour, in hope more than expectation that their selected route would come good against a capricious forecast. We caught the four 100 footers as they left Sydney in sloppy seas and a light and fitful nor’easter. And no, this vision isn’t in slo mo!

The big waves Denmark gives us make us surf on the waves and hit our speed record of 12 knots, which is pretty impressive for our 33-foot boat! 🌊 We really enjoy the Danish coast and get some lovely summer weather, plus we cook onboard (you MUST try the Smashed Burger Taco if you haven’t! 🍔).
