This week I went back to New Jersey to help out my dad as he gets ready to be released from Physical Rehab and skilled nursing care. I took Chasity with me for a little adventure and break from her sister. I scored some serious Grandpa points by getting tickets to Hamilton and taking Chazzy up to New York City. We went to Time Square, went to a German restaurant for dinner, and then went and saw Hamilton on Broadway. Chaz has some German heritage and decided she had never had German food and asked if we could go to a German Place. I found a proper Biergarten to go to, and we ordered good authentic food. (or what passes as authentic food). I also took a trip down to the Barnegat Lighthouse and walked up the 217 steps to get a great view from the observation deck. I hope you enjoy the history of this area and the trip up the tower. Next week my dad comes home, and we start the home rehab to get his strength back up. We wanted to capture our beautiful sailboat in painting and wanted to do it right on the front of our home. We saw the work of a local artist from this area named Sandra Priest and really liked her style and work. We met with Sandra, Showed her pictures, and she quick sketched a rough draft and scale of what she was thinking. She took the time to understand what was important to us and even during the painting stopped to ensure that we were happy with the proportions and details she was considering with the boat. Det är också den motiveringen som gör att vi idag tuffar ut mot Varbergs Motorklubb vid Trönninge på vår stipendieturné. 🏍💨💨 Det blir en känslomässig glädjeyra med både skratt och gråt då en rörd Melcher Andersson fick ta emot sitt ungdomsledarstipendie. Och råkade lova att lägga i minst en växel till. ⭐️ Melcher är en ledare och tränare med högt engagemang. Barnen älskar honom, föräldrarna avgudar honom och styrelsen är stum av beundran över hans sätt att få barnen med sig och hur han som ansvarig för Crosskolan fått den och ungdomarna att växa. 👍🏼 Han brinner för klubbens barn och ungdomar och för hur motorsporten kan skapa välmående och trivsel på fritiden. Alla barn blir sedda. Alla barn får en tumme upp när dom kör förbi på banan. Alla barn räknas. 😀 Melcher är en aktiv tränare som coachar barnen längs banan med hela kroppen. Han visar tydligt om han pratar om kurvtagningar, spårval eller startträningar med ett tydligt kroppsspråk. Det kommer alltid fram barn, ungdomar och föräldrar till Melcher, så fort han är ute på Anneberg för att få goda råd, tips, pepp och coachning. Och i varje möte ger han minst 200% av sig själv.

We continue our trek out of the cold Northeast US with some Short Hop Passages. After our two first Overnight Sails we head in for an inside pass through North Carolina in order to avoid the turbulent nature of going outside around Cape Hattares, known as the GRAVEYARD OF THE ATLANTIC. We had a great stop at a little town called Vandamere, NC and this was a true highlight of our time during this section. We also saw some of the most beautiful BLUE water on our short outside hop from Morehead City, NC to Wrightsville Beach, NC. AND...we found Chris the perfect BIRTHDAY DINNER!
