Ο Αντώνιος Βασιλειάδης γεννήθηκε στην Ξάνθη σε ένα πολυπολιτισμικό περιβάλλον. Πρώτη εμπειρία με ένα λατίνι στο Πόρτο-Λάγο. Με μικρά ιστιοφόρα στην Γαλλία. Κατασκεύασε μόνος το πρώτο του σκάφος ανοιχτής θάλασσας, στην Γαλλία και χωρίς μηχανή ήλθε με αυτό στην Ελλάδα. Εργάστηκε σαν κυβερνήτης σε ενοικιαζόμενα σκάφη. Το 1979 πραγματοποιεί ταξίδι 1000 ναυτικών μιλίων και προκρίνεται για τον Υπερατλαντικό Μοναχικό Αγώνα του 1980. τον οποίο πραγματοποιεί με την χορηγία της εταιρείας 'Παπαστράτος". Το 1982 ξαναπερνάει τον Ωκεανό φέρνοντας πίσω το σκάφος και διδάσκει ιστιοπλοΐα. Το 1986 του ανατίθεται η έρευνα και κατασκευή της αρματωσιάς του αντιγράφου του αρχαίου πλοίου Κυρήνεια ΙΙ καθώς και η διακυβέρνησή του από τον Πειραιά στην Πάφο. To 1992 με το Ελληνικής σχεδίασης και κατασκευής σκάφος 'Μακεδονία' κερδίζει την 3η θέση στην κατηγορία σκαφών Ι.Μ.S. του Υπερατλαντικού αγώνα για τα 500 χρόνια της ανακάλυψης της Αμερικής. Την άλλη χρονιά βρίσκει ένα κατάλληλο σκάφος και ελπίζοντας σε κρατική χορηγία ετοιμάζεται για την πρώτη συμμετοχή της Ελλάδας στον αγώνα της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης, που δυστυχώς δεν πραγματοποιήθηκε. Συνεχίζει να διδάσκει ιστιοπλοΐα και από το 1999 αφιερώνεται στην ιστορική έρευνα για τα αρχαία ταξίδια και τον πολιτισμό κινηματογραφώντας τα για μία σειρά ντοκιμαντέρ. Τώρα στην Κύπρο σχεδιάζει να συνεχίσει τις έρευνες πάνω στο δεύτερο ομοίωμα το 'Κυρήνεια Ελευθερία' του εκλεκτού συγκυβερνήτη Γλαύκου Καριόλου. Le Voilier le Phoenix met le cap sur les iles Baléares. Il faut compter 2 jours de mer pour arriver dans l'archipel. Les conditions de navigation sont excellentes. La zone est très ventée et permet de naviguer sous voiles en permanence. Un véritable bonheur. Pour cette aventure, j'avais 2 équipières. During anchoring with our catamaran in Montenegro, our guests Anna and Kevin (both musical players) looked at the beautiful rocky cliff off the coast of Petrovac and said: 'This reminds us of the musical movie Mamma Mia 2, The Winner Takes it All'. We're leaving Scawfell Island and setting off on a 120 nautical mile journey to Island Head Creek.. Normally, we’d stop and explore the islands along the way but this time, we’ve got a short weather window to make it south, so we’re sailing non-stop, all day and all night, before eventually moving on to the Keppel Islands. If I were brand new to sailing or boating or I just got a boat and it didn't come with an organized core set of tools, I would have loved for someone to tell me what those core tools are to have onboard. With sailboats the answer isn't always big tools or more tools. Sometimes it's small ones, and ones that can do multiple jobs while storing away small, but it's always ones that you can get a good amount of force on as most things you interact with will be corroded. These are the tools that, after about 6 years of sailboat ownership and number of coastal cruises, I wouldn't leave the dock without, and which are sufficient to do most jobs on the boat that could need immediate attention. The goal is to cary as few tools as possible while still getting the job done. Fewer tools means less weight, less stuff to keep organized, and less searching for specialty sizes or types of tools, and tools that work well in small spaces.
