Première fois que nous avons si peu de temps pour faire une vidéo avec autant d'images à partager. Et oui les ports en Italie sont chers en cette saison et notre convertisseur de charge nous a laché. Un peu décousue mais elle retrace ces dernières semaines que nous avons passé sur le No Land. Les travaux à Bonifacio, nos retrouvailles avec Joris un ami de Gruisan, notre faux départ pour la Sardaigne puis le bon, notre traversée pour les îles Pontines qui sont magnigiques (une destinations de choix pour les Italiens), notre passage à Ventotene et Ischia. Prochaine étape jusqu'au Iles Eoliennes avec un ami à bord ! La grand bise. Le No Land.

Preparations for the Asia Expedition 2022/2023 are ongoing, and right now we have done caulking and pitching to seal the hull. The first thing is to caulk the deck with flax fibres to seal the seams. Then it is time for the pitching of the deck. This is done to keep the flax fibres in place once the ship is in the water. Pitch is a viscous liquid that exists naturally but can also be the sediment when distilling organic substances such as tar or petroleum. The pitch is being heated up to 290 degrees Celsius before the first pour, which burns the wood and fills the cracks. After it sets, the second pour fills the remaining gaps, and then the excess is scraped off.

Wracktauchen... In dieser Episode möchte ich Euch entführen in die geheimnisvolle Unterwasserwelt der Wracks vor Porto Santo! Ich tauche seit 1971 und habe so einige Tauchgänge auf meinem Konto. In der letzten Zeit habe ich hauptsächlich Arbeitstauchgänge an Segelyachten durchgeführt. Die sogenannten "Lusttauchgänge" kamen oft zu kurz. Nun habe ich hier auf Porto Santo endlich einmal wieder die Gelegenheit ein paar entspannte Wracktauchgänge zu machen. Im "Cipreia" Tauch-Club hier auf Porto Santo, direkt am Hafen, habe ich eine sehr professionelle TauchCrew kennengelernt. Wir haben uns sofort sehr gut verstanden und so hatte ich die besten Voraussetzungen für gute, sichere Tauchgänge. Hier im Cipreia Tauch-Club wird Freundlichkeit, Spass am Tauchen und Sicherheit besonders groß geschrieben. Ich kann den Club nur wärmstens empfehlen. In diesem Teil 1 der Tauchepisoden geht es um die vielen Fische am Wrack. In Episode 2... ist noch in Arbeit... geht's dann um das Tauchen an sich. Day 11 - Vendée Globe 2016 The Vendée Globe is a sailing race around the world and nonstop singlehanded. Skipper sails around the world from west to east via the three major capes of Good Hope, Leeuwin and the Horn. There is a long slide down the Atlantic, the perilous voyage across the Southern Ocean with firstly the Indian Ocean and its crossed seas, then the Pacific Ocean, the world’s biggest ocean. Finally, there is the climb back up the Atlantic to head back to Les Sables d’Olonne, which marks the start and finish of the Everest of the seas.
