Wer an Galapagos vorbei fährt, und die meisten Segler tun das, begeht aufgrund der Einzigartigkeit der Fauna und Flora meiner Meinung nach einen Fehler! Ganz Galapagos ist ein Nationalpark. Wir leben mitten in den vielfältigen Tierarten. Seelöwen, Pinguine, Tölpel, Leguane, Riesenschildkröten, Rochen und Haie sind überall präsent. Um Hammerhaie und Seepferdchen zu sehen, muss man sich etwas mühen. Wie überall auf Galapagos rufen wir am nächsten Morgen auf Kanal 14 ein Wassertaxi. Der Taxifahrer kommt extra mit dem Motorrad an den Anleger und holt uns mit dem Wassertaxi ab. Wir sind sicherlich heute die einzigen Gäste. Auch für den Port Captain William sind wir heute die einzige berufliche Tätigkeit, er stempelt unsere Zarpe von San Cristobal zur Isla Isabela ab und bietet uns an, uns auf der Insel herumzuführen. Auf Floreana leben ca. 150 Menschen – hier kennt jeder jeden. Floreana hat eine sehr interessante Geschichte rund um die deutschen Siedlerfamilien Ritter und Wittmer. Eifersuchtsdramen und ominöse Todesfälle prägen diese Geschichte. Die Nachkommen der Familie Wittmer leben nach wie vor auf Floreana und führen hier das Hotel Wittmer. Frau Wittmer freut sich sichtlich als wir an ihrer Tür klopfen und sie ihr deutsch trainieren kann. Sie zeigt uns ihr kleines Museum und drängt uns doch morgen noch einmal wieder zu kommen. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Pescamos la langosta más grande del Caribe, aproximadamente 4-5 kg de langosta. A su vez tenemos la suerte de nadar con tortugas, rayas y hasta tiburones. Seguimos conociendo las Granadinas, joyas del Caribe tanto dentro como fuera del agua. Ya nos había cautivado su gente y la belleza de lugar, y ahora nos sigue sorprendiendo con la pesca y su vida marina. En este episodio pescamos una langosta gigante y buceamos con tortugas, rayas y tiburones nodriza. Los corales son de todos los colores y están repletos de vida. En honor a Baleares utilizamos su receta casera de caldereta de langosta para preparar la langosta gigante capturada, la cual nos da para comer durante días. Continuamos nuestro camino para visitar el Parque Nacional de Tobago Cays, aquí nos quedamos hipnotizados con la vida marina. Todo tipo de animales nos acompañan durante nuestros 3 días de estancia en el Parque, una visita obligatoria en las Antillas. Are you learning how to sail? This video introduces the concept of gybing a small sailboat. Gybing is the manoeuvre where the boat turns as you are sailing away from the wind. As you learn to sail, Gybing is considered slightly more complex than tacking which we recommend you master first as you learn how to sail. With the Gybe the trick is balancing the boat.
