This catamaran is 60% recycled aluminium, decks are PEFC-certified cork, headlinings are recycled PET, fabrics are recycled. The result? The Vaan R5 is 100% recyclable (sails excepted). It’s all electric, with batteries drip-fed by the solar panels on the cabin top and the saildrive hydro generators (with a diesel generator for back-up). Karen finally took the helm topless—mission accomplished! While still anchored and waiting on repairs, we took the time to get organized. We secured a spot at Hinckley Yacht Services in Stuart, where several essential fixes were completed. Once ready, we set sail from Stuart, making our way to Cape Canaveral for an overnight stop. From there, we continued to Jacksonville for another night before pushing on to Georgia, where we'll be taking a well-earned traveling break. Sailing all night has its own anxieties. Even with radar and AIS you still can't see what's in front of the boat. We have a camera on the bow but its IR isn't powerful enough to see more than 30 or 40 feet ahead in darkness. Thinking another bow camera with more powerful IR is in the future. Karen is officially a little Georgia peach now—haha! Video is filmed on Divetravel Finland's technical diving liveaboard safari on 21. Nov 2011. The wreck of Gulf Fleet No. 31 is located at reef of Shabrour Umm Gamar, Red Sea, Egypt. Length of this wreck is 54.9 meters. The wreck lies upright at a maximum depth of 108 meters. Visibility on the dive was 50+ meters and water temperature at 100 meters was 24 degrees of celsius.
