Die Straßen sind extrem schlecht, das australische Englisch ist extrem schwierig zu verstehen und die Natur ist extrem – in jeder Beziehung. Was ich damit meine, erlebt ihr in diesem Film. „Ihr Europäer habt die Geschichte, wir Australier haben die Natur“ hören wir wiederholt. Es ist Hochsommer auf der Südhalbkugel. Immer wieder lodern Buschfeuer auf und Straßen sind gesperrt. Solange keine Siedlungen gefährdet sind, werden die Feuer jedoch nicht bekämpft. Manchmal kommt das Leben aber anders als man plant. Im Frühjahr 2020 erhielt ich die Diagnose Morbus Parkinson. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März 2021geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben passte als in meins. In den folgenden 6 Monaten hat Brigitta aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich über unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Insgesamt sind wir aktuell 4 ½ Jahre unterwegs. Ein Abenteuer folgt dem nächsten und wir genießen jeden Tag aufs Neue. Auf der Suche nach Freiheit und Unabhängigkeit, Abenteuerlust und Naturverbundenheit segeln wir - Brigitta und Hannes - gemeinsam um die Welt. Für diese Weltumsegelung haben wir uns den Katamaran Lagoon 40 MariaNoa gekauft, mit dem wir Anfang März 2021 von der französischen Atlantikküste auf die Barfußroute gestartet sind.
