What an incredible few days in La Grande-Motte, France! The International Multihull Show in La Grande‑Motte, France was the perfect opportunity to showcase our world of sailing and power catamarans, and to reconnect with so many passionate boaters. This year, we proudly presented 7 catamarans on display: Leopard 46, Leopard 52, Sunsail 465, Leopard 40PC, Leopard 46PC, the brand‑new Leopard 53PC, and the Moorings 464PC. A major highlight of the show was the Leopard 52, awarded Multihull of the Year in the Sail 45’ to 55’ category. A fantastic recognition of her design, performance and comfort. We were also excited to officially announce the launch of the all‑new Leopard 43, which will make her world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival this coming September, a highly anticipated new model that marks an important milestone for the Leopard Catamarans range. Visitors enjoyed sea trials on two models, unforgettable moments under sail and power, and the opportunity to explore our solutions for ownership, charter management and private cruising. Beyond the boats, the atmosphere made this event truly special: enthusiastic visitors, engaging conversations, a wonderful evening shared with happy owners, and above all an outstanding team of passionate collaborators who made the show a real success. Thank you to everyone who joined us in La Grande‑Motte — we look forward to seeing you again very soon, and next in Cannes. 👉 https://www.leopardcatamarans.com/

After leaving our ARGO sign at the famous A-Frame on Middle Percy Island, we set our sights on the Whitsundays. The journey north began with an overnight sail to Scawfell Island, arriving in darkness and a little puckering with winds gusting to 37 knots! From there, we made a quick stop at Shaw Island before heading to Hamilton Island to pick up friends for a cheeky day sail. Thanks for coming along Karen and Steve : ) Then it was time to explore some of our favourite parts of the Whitsundays. We overnighted in Cid Harbour before heading to the crystal-clear waters of Butterfly Bay on Hook Island for some much-needed snorkelling. But the highlight was undoubtedly Manta Ray Bay. The marine life there was simply incredible. Huge Maori Wrasse swam alongside us without a care in the world, curious Batfish followed us around like underwater puppies, and Giant Trevally cruised past looking like they'd spent years lifting weights at the gym. We also revisited the famous underwater manta ray sculpture, which is every bit as magical as we remembered. After soaking up some of the best snorkelling the Whitsundays has to offer, we sailed the 19.5 nautical miles back to Airlie Beach, arriving just in time for a spectacular sunset and a much-needed reprovision (and to pick up our watermaker part - thanks Brett for the swift fix) before our next adventure – heading out to the Great Barrier Reef for some spearfishing and glassy water. The Whitsundays never disappoint. Thanks for watching. We half expected to be layered up and miserable. Instead we're debating whether to turn the heat down. So this week we're bringing you aboard for our first taste of winter boat life. Show you all the details that make the difference (and the one thing we're still struggling with). ----------------- WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity. We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us. Things We're Most Curious About... GETTING OFF-GRID Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. So self-reliance and sustainable living are a must. We've learned heaps about renewable energy, managing waste, creating safe drinking water and foraging for food. We carefully manage our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so. TALKING TO STRANGERS People are busy (even on remote islands) and travelers are a dime a dozen. It takes time to talk to strangers, and even more time to have a real connection. Going the extra mile to get to know someone is a commitment. Which is why these are our most treasured experiences. Setting off into the world with curiosity as our guide and nature as our compass. We talk to strangers and accept hospitality without fear or reservations. Both giving and receiving. ALTERNATIVE LIVING These are people who are doing things differently. Forgoing the mainstream, seeking freedom and living on the margins. Creative, unique and inspiring people who challenge our ideas of home and community. Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity Timestamps if you like to Jump Around: 00:00 Freezing Boat Life 01:04 Exterior Features to Keep the Boat from Freezing 05:30 Freezing Temperatures Will Destroy a Boat 08:10 Radiant Diesel Heating Everywhere 12:34 Electric Backup Heating 13:10 How to Fight Condensation on a Boat 19:38 Cabin and Head Heating Ventilation 20:29 Moment of Hygge 22:54 What Makes an Explorer Yacht? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #Travel #BoatLife #LifeStyle #Adventure #exploreryacht #Sailing #Curiosity #trawler © Gone With the Wynns 2026

Why NOT to buy a RACE BOAT for a CRUISING HOME... A lot of people are curious as to why we chose a race boat for a family cruiser. They've been asking us things like what it’s like to sail, whether we can manage it just the two of us, how she behaves on a passage, what the costs are like. We don’t have all the answers as we haven’t had the boat that long, but in this video we want to share with you what we’ve learnt so far. We aren’t the first to turn a race boat into a cruiser and we won’t be the last. For example, the Palmer family turned an 80ft whitbread yacht into the beautiful cruiser called Camara that you check out on their YouTube channel "Camara sailing". Then there’s the Duracell project which is Mike and his wife restoring the boat that American sailor Mike Plant raced in the first Vendee Globe in 1989. You can see more about them on their YouTube channel "The Duracell Project". In this video we will share with you what we think are the biggest drawbacks to choosing a race boat for a cruiser. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you enjoy our videos consider supporting us on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/SailingNV If you don't like Patreon but would like to chip in for a coffee, beer, sand paper or epoxy click here https://www.buymeacoffee.com/sailingNV -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out our refit series: 01 Can we turn an Open 66 race boat into a fast family cruiser?! https://youtu.be/Hi4re2-dK2w 02 Quadrant glued to rudder post - how do we get it off without damaging everything??! https://youtu.be/TaDgceTS9bU 03 How we removed our giant carbon fiber rudder with a hydraulic jack! https://youtu.be/1D-eP4EHyIM 04 Life in Fiji, CYCLONE SEASON is coming! https://youtu.be/pDmKJLLgxZM 05 CYCLONE CONTAINER strategy & Solo's ACCIDENT https://youtu.be/YVpMZrN3_WI 06 Boat cradle build https://youtu.be/cWvcQ3LOtk4 07 Building a bow BOAT CRADLE and DOG WHEELCHAIR https://youtu.be/SrF9IHHaHxg 08 Santa came early this year - we can hardly CONTAIN ourselves! https://youtu.be/Z5Eku-QsXAs 09 Just in time! We are Timo and Jo, an Italian and English couple with countless ocean miles under our belts, including sailing half way around the world from Europe to Fiji! Last year we bought an Open 66 ft race sailing boat originally designed and built by the famous Hungarian sailor Nándor Fa, which he raced in the 1990 and 1992 Vendée Globe (round the world single handed race known as “the Everest of the seas”), becoming the first non-frenchman to finish the race. We are currently in Fiji giving this old gladiator a new lease on life, transforming her from an ex race boat to a performance family cruiser, which we'll need to make both dog and baby proof! We’re planning to set sail again in Oct 2022, so with limited time&money we have plenty of challenges ahead to turn our dreams into reality&get back on the water! Subscribe to our channel&track our progress as we release videos about our journey as well as "how to" videos about anything boat related. Never stop to dream, never stop to sail!
