After three days of driving trough desert like landscapes in Spain and a smooth crossing we touched the shore of Palma, prepared the boat and started racing. Chongqing is located in Southwest China. It's a beautiful city of 30M people, tucked into the rolling hills of that area. The Chinese always say the city and province are known for spicy food and it didn't disappoint. The most popular restaurant is hotpot with more than 30,000 available places to boil your meats and vegetables. At night, the city comes alive especially the area around the river and bridges. There is a 9-10 story touristy shopping area with traditional stalls and items for sale. There is also the obelisk-like monument to the People's Liberation Army, for the victory in the Sino-Chinese conflict. One of the most beautiful and unique buildings is the bright red Art Gallery tucked in the middle of downtown. The annual Royal Malta Yacht Club Boxing Day Race is a yearly appointment where sailors take part in a short race to raise funds for the Malta Community Chest Fund's Boxing Day initiative - L-Istrina. During the race, sailors and crews are encouraged to dress up their boats and themselves to add to the cheer. This year's event raised €1250 - thank you to all those that donated!
