This DIY cart is perfect for any kayak, All together this cart cost me $35.00. The wheels where the bulk of the price. This particular cart has hauled over 100lbs of gear with no indication of stress. Some day I think I'm going to test the stress limit, but for now, I need to be nice to it. Because, I'm poor.. haha

This is the boat life and as you may know things don't always go as planned when you travel and or own a boat. Today on the sailboat I was attempting to inspect and repair an issue with the water impeller of our inboard marine diesel engine on our tiny house on the water and it turns out the rear seal had failed. This is no big deal since we caught the issue early, but in order to rebuild it requires a pair of C-clip pliers. Well, I don't have any and that is my "What the HELM" moment for the day. I have been told there will be plenty of these moment if you live on a sailboat. I just wanted to share this one and maybe hear about yours whether you are a liveaboard too or even if you don't live on a yatch. Share your "What the HELM" moment in the comments below. Here is a quick video I did on 5 things I look for when determining the overall condition of a catamaran. I'm onboard cats all day long, and this system has worked well for me. 5) As you approach the yacht how do the hulls and bottom look? 4) How do the engine compartments look? 3) How organized are the cockpit lazzerettes? 2) Does the catamaran pass the smell test? 1) How clean are the bilges and shower sumps?
