Join YachtWorld and Marilyn DeMartini for a full walkthrough of Bob Roscioli's final sportfish masterpiece, the "Classic Coke", a 76-foot sportfisherman created for long-time client and friend, Bud Koch. We got to sea trial the new yacht - now the 10th under that name - with the owner and Captain Carvey Ianuzzi on a breezy day from its homeport of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 76 Sportfish was designed so that the 6’ 5” Koch, an ardent angler, could move up from his 58’ Roscioli Donzi Sportfish to more comfortably take trips with his wife and fishing buddies, including his 6’ 7” tall son. Head room and crew quarters for a new captain were part of the plan, facilitating cruising and fishing in the Bahamas and other South Florida destinations. Roscioli Donzi’s ship building facility in Bradenton, Florida completed the construction of the vessel in 2020 while the rigging was finished at the Fort Lauderdale Roscioli Yachting Center in 2021, recently purchased by OneWater Marine. Powered by MTUs, the R-76 cruises around 32 knots with a maximum top speed in the ballpark of 36-37 knots depending on load. She has a 19'6" beam and a draft of 5'4" with distinctive flowing lines from bow to stern. While the bridge provides a panoramic view, we experienced part of the ride from the customized mezzanine as not only the vista, but the comfort is noteworthy. The 76 Sportfish is a tribute to the man who had a vision to create the best yacht possible, worthy of the name he proudly attached to the hull. She is elegant and beautiful, yet as tough as the man who designed and built her. The Morris Linda 28 is a timeless classic from the drawing board of Chuck Paine. Renowned for their sailing characteristics, Skimmer is a lovely example of the Linda and she is ready to sail away. Skimmer has a custom interior layout, offering a more open cabin with excellent light and ventilation. Deck hardware and sailing controls are thoughtfully laid out and allow for simple sail handling. She can be comfortably singlehanded and is also a capable family cruiser. Skimmer is hull number 15 of the 16 Lindas that were built.
