** NOW SOLD ** Lying in the Gold Coast, in a near new condition, ‘Therapy III’ is a 2018 Lagoon 450S exclusively listed for sale with team YOTI Queensland. This four-cabin Lagoon 450 Sportop was sold in 2018 by The Multi Hull Group to her only owner. The vessel is fully optioned with 11kva Generator, Air conditioning, Watermaker, washing machine, solar panels, electric winches, full B and G instrumentation and plotters and more. Her interior is a beautiful matt Alpi Walnut. Her saloon is airy and light, with the trademark excellent all-round visibility that Lagoons are known for. A comfortable and large L shaped settee with table is to starboard, the navigation station with remote joystick for indoor steering to port. The U-shaped galley with Corian tops has lots of counter space and due to the revised orientation, easier access to the cockpit. All her cabins are ensuite, have large hull windows and overhead hatches, to ensure ventilation and feeling of light and space. The aft cabins feature island berths with plenty of storage, the forward berths are slightly angled to enable a partial entry from the side too. Furthermore, the saloon table can be lowered to form an additional double berth. The Sportop version of the 450 has an offset, safe helm position, from where you operate all sails. It was designed to reduce separation of crew and helmsman. Visibility from the helm is great with all the electric primary, manoeuvring and mainsheet winches all within reach. At the helm is B & G touchscreen GPS with AIS receiver. The sail areas are the same as the Flybridge version. However, the lower mast and boom reduces pitching and makes the boom easier to access. For downwind performance, she also comes with two North Gennakers: A G- Zero on a furler and a G2 in a sock. The optional composite steering Bimini is fitted with all-round clears, as is the entire cockpit, for additional protection from the elements. ‘Therapy III’ is powered by twin 57hp Yanmar diesel engines with only a little over 1200 hours. The Highfield CL360 RIB with a 20Hp 4 stroke Yamaha outboard is stored on large davits with a dedicated electric- manual winch for ease of retrieval. This four-cabin Lagoon 450 has been beautifully looked after. She has just been antifouled, hull and cabin top polished, engines, saildrives and genset serviced. Lounging and dining space is abundant and the saloon table extends (another upgrade). There are three fridges plus a freezer. A domestic size Siemens washer / dryer is neatly stowed and easily accessed. The galley includes a dishwasher, coffee machine, microwave, and fresh and salt water foot pump. Both toilets are quiet flush and plumbed to fresh water. The utility space under the rear of the cockpit houses the 9KVA generator and Stella 160L p/hr water maker. After we become essentially homeless after selling our boat, we still have one week left in England before our flights back to the US. We use that time to visit a few friends along the way, and take in all the British charm we can. In the town of Calstock, we walk the Cotehele Estate, which has been around since the mid 15th Century, and has one of the most untouched Tudor homes in all of England. Soon though, it was time to head to London, where we'd be staying with our friends on SV Polaris, whom we'd meet while sailing the Isles of Scilly. They welcomed us into their home for the next few days, showing us the local sights, and even getting me on the water one more time. Their son, Constantin, does weekly races on the River Thames, and it was decided that this week, I would join him. Having never sailed such a small boat before, I was terrified I would capsize us at some point in the race. But it turns out Constantin is a great teacher, and we even took fifth place! Mit viel Freude pflege ich seit 2004 Patenschaften zu Kindern in Vietnam und Nepal. Lockere Briefwechsel informieren mich über die Fortschritte der Kinder, deren Familien und Gemeinden und geben mir die Möglichkeit über unser Leben in Deutschland zu berichten, von meiner Familie und meinen Freunden. Einige der Kinder sind tatsächlich während der Patenschaft volljährig geworden oder aus dem Programmgebiet verzogen, sodass die Patenschaft beendet aber natürlich sofort durch eine neue ersetzt wurde. Die Krönung dieser Kontakte waren 2010 meine Besuche bei damals zwei Patenkindern in Vietnam und 2019 in Nepal. 2010 mit meiner damals 12-jährigen Tochter Carolin – ein Tür- und Herzensöffner wie man ihn sich nicht besser wünschen kann. Beide Besuche waren unvergessliche Erlebnisse in meinem Leben und sind sicherlich mit Motivation erneut auf Reisen zu gehen – diesmal auf dem Wasser. In Zusammenarbeit mit der Zentrale von Plan in Hamburg werden wir mit unserem Katamaran Programmländer besuchen und die Arbeit vor Ort medial aufarbeiten. Viele der Programmländer liegen an der s.g. Barfussroute, werden aus Sicherheitsgründen von Weltumseglern aber in der Regel nicht besucht. Genau das wollen wir bewusst anders machen und dem Privileg solch einer Segelreise ein bisschen einen Sinn geben. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ ist für den 8. März geplant – allerdings haben wir Corona vorher nicht gefragt. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Very light for its size with a displacement of 4,000 lb (1,814 kg), it has a 7/8 fractional sloop rig with aluminum spars, a raked stem, a reverse transom, an internally mounted spade-type rudder controlled by a tiller and a fixed fin keel or lifting keel with a bulb weight. It displaces 4,000 lb (1,814 kg) and carries 1,900 lb (862 kg) of lead ballast.[1][3][4] The lifting keel version of the design uses a "bolt-down" style of keel, It has a draft of 5.50 ft (1.68 m) with the lifting keel extended and 1.83 ft (0.56 m) with it retracted, allowing ground transportation on a trailer. It has a very narrow beam of 8.00 ft (2.44 m) to meet the legal requirements for highway trailer widths. It mast is hinged at the mast step and the spinnaker pole is used to raise the mast for quick launching with a small crew.[1][3] The boat is normally fitted with a small outboard motor for docking and maneuvering. The outboard is fitted into a stern well, that allows the motor to be swung up and a hatch closed to fair the opening.[1][3] The galley is limited to a dish locker, an icebox under the companionway steps and provisions for an optional alcohol-fired stove. The fresh water tank has a capacity of 5 U.S. gallons (19 L; 4.2 imp gal). There is a sink fed by pumped water, vanity and space for a portable-type head to be installed. Sleeping accommodations are provided for five people on a bow "V"-berth, two under-cockpit single berths and one main cabin settee berth.[3] There are six port fixed lights in a tapered shape and a forward acrylic plastic hatch for ventilation.[3] The cockpit has two sheet winches and all lines, including the halyards, lead to the cockpit. A 838 sq ft (77.9 m2) spinnaker can be used for downwind sailing. The genoa employs a headfoil (a headsail airfoil-shaped reinforcement) and a concealed backstay adjuster. The mainsheet and the boom vang both have 4:1 mechanical advantages. There is a topping lift and an internal outhaul line.[3] The design has a Portsmouth Yardstick racing average handicap of 73.0 and a hull speed of 7.44 kn (14 km/h).[3][4]

This very well-presented yacht has been well specified with a solid list of upgrades and only modest use. The 385 was designed with easy, speedy and comfortable sailing in mind. All halyards and control lines are led aft to the electric winches in the cockpit; no need to venture on deck in adverse conditions. The helmsman can raise the mainsail and unfurl the self-tacking jib and set sail, all without leaving his wheel, making shorthanded sailing a breeze. The cockpit is secure and comfortable with a centrally mounted Simrad touch screen GPS plotter and folding table. A sprayhood with full-width aft handrail provides secure and protected access to the vessel’s interior. Twin wheels allow for broad and unrestricted cockpit access to and from the fold-down teak inlaid, bathing platform. Electronics are by Simrad and include a touch screen colour chart plotter in the cockpit, auto-pilot, VHF and multifunction navigation displays at each helm. A flat-screen TV has been neatly installed plus the Fusion sound system is I-Pod and USB capable. A large Xantrex Sinewave 1800 watt inverter is installed along with microwave and 4 x solar panels with regulator. A Mercury dinghy and Suzuki outboard engine are included. Camelot has the two-cabin layout which includes a generous owner’s cabin forward with a large, centrally mounted double berth with good light and ventilation, a seat and plenty storage. The double guest cabin is aft, to port and also has good storage and ventilation. The main saloon is beautiful, light, and airy, in satin varnished American Cherry style joinery with off-white bulkheads, To starboard is the well thought out L- Shaped galley, with a good working surface, top and front accessed fridge with freezer compartment and double burner stove and oven. The navigation table to port is practical and doubles as a small workstation and the saloon table with seating all around can easily accommodate her crew and guests. The saloon seating has a slide-out system with infill, to easily convert to an extra double berth. The large head with shower is to port and has an electric toilet with holding tank. A massive pantry/ sail locker aft of the galley may also be accessed by cockpit hatch.
