Wie schon bei Nicole und Monica gebe ich einen Betrag vor und die Plan-Mitarbeiter kaufen davon die wichtigsten Grundnahrungsmittel ein. Besuchstag Auch am Besuchstag brechen wir direkt nach einem leckeren Frühstück auf. Bis zu dem Dorf, in dem Valentina und ihre Familie wohnt, sind wir eine Stunde unterwegs. Vor dem Rathaus halten wir an und treffen schon bald auf Valentina und ihre Mutter. Valentina ist 5 Jahre alt aber auffallend fröhlich und selbstbewusst. Fröhlich strahlend nimmt sie mit Freude erst mich dann Brigitta in die Arme. Wahrscheinlich hat ihr das jemand so gesagt, aber man spürt, dass sie es gerne tut. Wir haben wiederholt die Plan-Vorgaben zum Schutz der Kinder gelesen und würden selbst niemals so innig auf ein Kind zugehen. Aber wenn Valentina so spontan ist … wir freuen uns. Valentina Valentina ist tapfer. Für ein Kind ist es eine Herausforderung so lange still zu sitzen. Ich versuche die Situation etwas aufzulockern und gebe ihr schon mal einen Lolli aus der großen mitgebrachten Tüte, betone aber auch, dass sie die XXL Tüte nicht allein aufessen, sondern in den Kindergarten mitnehmen soll. Im Frühjahr 2020 erhielt ich die Diagnose Morbus Parkinson. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März 2021geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. The McArthur Class 40 was designed for trans-Atlantic racing and round the world racing, however she was used for cruising. Built and launched in Bristol, England, in 1990, her owners have been sailing and exploring on her since. She has sailed just about everywhere and would be an ideal boat for a couple or family looking to do the same - though this boat would be just as comfortable sailing across the bay. Only 65 of these were built - and they were built in a unique way which is described in the video. Here is a sampling of where's she's been: She was launched in 1990. Shakedown trip to north Spain to cruise the Ria areas. Next she was off to North Africa and then around the coast of Spain. She returned to England via Canal Du Midi, France. In 1994 departed England for the Caribbean by way of Canary Islands and Cape Verde Islands, arriving in Trinidad Christmas 1994. She then cruised the Leeward and Windward Islands arriving in Virginia, August 1995. In 1998, she left Virginia for the Windward Passage to Bahamas, Honduran Bay Islands, Jamaica, Cayman Island and Belize returning via the coast of Mexico. The she sailed up to Maine, Nova Scotia and hence to Newfoundland. Spent 10 summers in Newfoundland and back to Maine Presently cruising Maine and Fundy. After making the biggest decision of our lives, we are finally hitting the road and heading towards to East coast of the USA to look for our liveaboard sailboat. But first; many renovations, downsizing, and goodbyes. We had many projects that we needed to do on our house to make it ready to be put up for sale. We spent a couple of years completing all those tasks! Then came the downsizing our lives to fit into our 22ft holiday trailer and truck box...but we did it!
