Wenn wir in einer Woche einklarieren, ist das auch okay. Wir haben Glück. Einer von drei Ankerplätzen in der „ersten Reihe“ nahe zum Strand ist frei. Dankbar lassen wir unseren Rocna fallen und sind stolz und glücklich. Französisch Polynesien liegt mitten im Pazifik, quasi auf halbem Weg zwischen Panama und Australien. Der Inselstaat gliedert sich im Wesentlichen in die Marquesas Inseln im NO, den unendlichen Atollen und Inseln der Toamotus, der Gambier- und Gesellschaftsinseln sowie Tahiti im SW. Was für ein herrlicher Ort anzukommen und zu relaxen. Das Wasser in der Baie Hanamoena auf Tahuata ist sauber und klar, lädt ein zum Schwimmen und Schnorcheln, der Strand zum Spaziergang unter Palmen. Es gibt keinen Fußweg aus der Bucht, daher gibt es auch keine Bewohner. Wir Segler haben dieses kleine Paradies für uns. Mit uns sind die Crews der Machete, der Salini und der Walkabout angekommen. ** This boat has been sold. We wish the new owners many happy years on board ** Lütje Classic Coaster 40 for sale. Lütje Yachts is a household name in Germany. They are known for first-class boat building. The shipyard is one of the few companies that still builds every yacht entirely by hand. This Classic Coaster, a design from Judel/Vrolijk & Co, is one of a kind. The current owners have modified the original open version into a version with a deckhouse to enhance the boat’s functionality, making it ideal for extended coastal cruising and al fresco dining without worrying about the weather. Other improvements include a new stainless steel anchor system, luxurious upholstery throughout, numerous made-to-measure covers, and a custom-made cockpit table. All these works were carried out at the Lütje Shipyard in Germany in 2014 and has cost quite a bit but the result is more than worth it. She is powered by 2 Yanmar diesel engines of 500hp each with low engine hours. She is furthermore equipped with a bow thruster and trim tabs. This Classic Coaster is designed for day trips and short cruises. Below deck is a cabin featuring a big V-shaped sofa with a table that can be adjusted in height to create a big V-berth. To port side a small galley with 2-burner cooker and a fridge. And to starboard side a head compartment with wash basin and marine toilet. She is also fitted out with a Webasto heating system to keep you warm and comfortable during the chilly nights. This boat has been meticulously maintained. The boat has only been in the water for a few weeks a year over the last 10 years when the owners were here. The rest of the time it was stored on the hard completely covered under a watertight tarpaulin up to the underwater hull. Als plötzlich MariaNoa mit einem Ruck stehen bleibt. Verstört sehen wir uns um. Ein Floss mit einem grünen Container schwimmt neben uns. Bei längerem Hinsehen glauben wir den Anfang eines Schleppnetzes zu sehen. In jedem Fall wirkt dieses Floss fest im Pazifik verankert auf 4.000 m Wassertiefe. Zwischen dem Floss und MariaNoa spannt sich im Wasser eine Leine und hält uns fest. Denn MariaNoa will weiter, ihre Segel sind prall vom Wind gefüllt. Erste Maßnahme ist daher: Druck aus den Segeln nehmen - Segel einholen. Die Selbstwendefock ist schnell aufgerollt, aber das Groß? Normalerweise dreht man in den Wind um das Großsegel zu bergen. Keine Schanze. Wir werfen das Groß Fall los, das seit einiger Zeit, aus welchen Gründen auch immer, von alleine runterkommt. 1. und 2. Reffleine kann ich mit der Elektrowinsch dicht holen – elegant ist das nicht. Ich klettere an den Mast und zerre den Rest des Segels von Hand runter. Auch ohne Segel hat ein Schiff aber eine erhebliche Windangriffsfläche und will weiter. Um die Leine zum Floss zu durchtrennen, muss ich sie erst einmal erreichen. Mit der Backbordmaschine fahren wir rückwärts und zerren die Leine auf die Klampe - ich trenne sie mit der Flex durch. Das Floß vertreibt – bzw. MariaNoa. Der Druck an unserem Ruderblatt Steuerbord um das sich die Leine gewickelt hatte, ist endlich weg. Welchen Schaden mag das Ruderblatt genommen haben? Noch immer hängt an dem anderen Ende die AIS-Boje, die ja sichtlich nicht funktioniert. Sonst hätten wir sie kommen sehen. Mit einer Schlinge zerre ich die Boje an Deck und durchflexe auch dieses Leinenende. Die Boje vertreibt. Habt Ihr konkrete Fragen? Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März 2021geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Plan International ist ein internationales Kinderhilfswerk. Auf unserer Reise wollen wir nicht nur in Traumbuchten chillen sondern Programmländer von Plan besuchen und die dortige Arbeit dokumentieren. And while we don't typically review sailboats in this price range (a first at this level), we were contacted by the owner, Gary, who asked us to showcase her and announce her being for sale. We were honored and even more so when we saw this beautiful Cabo Rico 38. We had never been on one, though we heard they are nice. Guess what? They are WICKED nice and this one is off the charts. Gary bought her 3 years ago and has done a ton of work to her and made lots of upgrades (all of this is listed below). He found her in Marion, MA, sailed her up to Maine, did a ton of work, then sailed her to the Bahamas. Of note, this CR 38 has also sailed around the world. The proof of her seaworthiness is in the pudding, as they say. She has done it all and is now ready for more. Once you go through the list of what has been done, you'll see why. There is nothing left to do but replace the lifelines (as we note in the video) and go sailing - and not necessarily in that order. Honestly, we loved this boat so much and we really hope we get a chance to go sailing on her.
