2007 Beneteau Cyclades 50.5 "Moyo" For Sale with The Yacht Sales Co. https://yachtsalesco.com/boats/pre-owned/sailing-yachts/2007-beneteau-cyclades-50-moyo/ 2007 Beneteau Cyclades 50.5 | Moyo The Journey of Moyo: A Seaworthy Cruiser Ready for Her Next Adventure Moyo's journey began in 2014 when she was acquired for charter work in the pristine waters of French Polynesia by her previous owner. For several years, she was lightly used and exceptionally well-maintained, a testament to her reliability and quality. In February 2020, she was purchased by her current owner, a retired Master Mariner with over 100,000 recorded sea miles on small vessels. With extensive experience in refits and factory supervision in Italy, France, and the Far East, as well as a rich background in cruising and ocean racing, he saw Moyo’s potential as a vessel capable of delivering exceptional cruising experiences. The new owner initially purchased Moyo with the intention of embarking on long voyages with his family. However, over time, the physical demands of extended cruising became more challenging than anticipated. Despite this, he committed himself to ensuring that Moyo was refitted to a high standard, transforming her into a vessel ready for comfortable and safe cruising on open waters. When Moyo was first acquired, she was a basic bare boat, ideal for chartering but lacking the features necessary for extended cruising. The owner embarked on a comprehensive refit to elevate her to a higher level of comfort. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Moyo was placed on the hard, where extensive maintenance was carried out. This included replacing the rudder and cutlass bearings, the engine dampener, and inspecting and servicing all through-hull fittings. Moyo was then antifouled with Joltron before being relaunched in May 2022. Following her relaunch, Moyo sailed around the islands, where her performance impressed her owner. She proved herself to be a stiff and steady vessel, performing exceptionally well under sail and power. Her Yanmar engine, which has just over 2,500 hours and underwent a major service in 2023, has proven both economical and reliable. All winches and the windlass were fully serviced to ensure seamless operation during every voyage. In 2024, the owner installed a solar power system designed to silently power both the 220v and 12v systems, including running the saloon air conditioning during peak sunlight. The system includes 600ah lithium p4 batteries, ready to be hooked up. Additionally, Moyo is equipped with an Onan 10kw generator, which has logged approximately 3,000 hours and serves as a reliable standby power source. To further enhance comfort and self-sufficiency, Moyo has been outfitted with new equipment, including: A water purifier, 7kg automatic washing machine, an ice maker, a coffee maker, HF radio, Tridata depth finder, Cobb stainless steel barbeque, Tuhatsu 9.9 hp, outboard engine (with less than 50 hours), a 10-man ocean life raft etc.. The five Jabsco heads onboard have also been serviced with new kits, and Moyo comes with an extensive array of tools, including a Makita battery drill, angle grinder, jigsaw, and vacuum cleaner. For future blue-water cruising, it is suggested to add a 12v water maker and update the plotter and radar for enhanced navigation. Nevertheless, Moyo is currently well-equipped for open-water cruising, ensuring both comfort and safety. Over the past two years, Moyo has been under the care of a professional captain for six months, with the owner himself also spending six months onboard to ensure her continued upkeep. Moyo is not a vessel meant to sit in a marina for extended periods—she was built for the open seas, and now, as the owner moves on, Moyo is ready for a new owner to take her on fresh adventures. Her history of care, upgrades, and readiness for the sea makes Moyo an ideal vessel for her next voyage, awaiting her new chapter with the wind in her sails. This Fjord 40 Open with teak laid decks, extended bathing platform and bold characteristic lines is a fine example of a carefully and privately used cruiser. Honey is powered by two strong Volvo Penta D6-IPS500 diesels of 370 hp each. The IPS drives and the IPS Joystick steering ensure great manoeuvrability and smooth rides at all speeds. She is, furthermore, equipped with trim tabs, inverter, numerous covers, bimini’s, stainless steel recessed deck hardware, folding anchor system in the bow, Raymarine electronics, and underwater lights. This open design boat offers loads of space on deck, both fore and aft. The aft deck is dominated by with twin high-low tables and two facing settees. The seatbacks are reversible, so both settees can face either forward or aft. And with the tables lowered, the complete dining area converts to a huge sunbed. There is another ample sunbed on the fore deck. The helm station features a well-organized dashboard, three foldable chairs, a frameless windshield, and a T-Top with tinted panels. The on-deck galley, also located under the T-Top, features a 2-burner gas cooker, wash basin and a fridge. Life on board a Fjord 40 Open happens mainly on deck. The interior is, nevertheless, well laid out and surprisingly spacious. She features an island double berth in the bow flanked by stowage lockers. To port is a nicely appointed bathroom with electric toilet and wash basin. While on the starboard side there's a small settee and a berth for the little ones. This yacht has three luxury-sized en-suite double-berth sleeping cabins to choose from, and exudes an elegance about her that only comes from a very high quality finish. That's real teak decking in the cockpit and below the interior features a very attractive oak panel finish with tastefully matched, expensive upholstery. The galley is amidships, ahead of the main saloon dining area and spreads across the boat and has a U-shaped cooking/food preparation zone with large sink, Corian bench top and 3-burner oven/stove. To starboard are a double draw fridge/freezer and more bench space. It's a galley that's going to work well for both on and offshore trips because you can brace yourself easily. Down below, there's a very clean, classy saloon finished in a modern oak with an attractive fabric upholstery. It's all very tasteful with a soft cream overhead liner and darker timber floor panels. Skylight hatches add natural lighting, however at night the saloon comes into its elegant best shown off by floor and overhead lights. The saloon has a large settee lounge to starboard and equally comfortable dinette to port with outboard seating. The latter accommodates six to eight dinner guests, but also converts to an oversized berth. There's also a navigation table and seat on the starboard side with a large house instrument panel outboard. The master cabin is forward with an impressive island berth and en-suit bathroom split over two compartments. There is plenty of stowage here in two clothes lockers, roll-out bed drawer and side upper-level lockers. Guests can choose from two double-berth staterooms either side of the companionway. Both have decent-size bathrooms with showers, though the port one has dual doors so it can be a general guest toilet/washroom as well. Luxury refinements include a 32-inch slide-away TV on the starboard side of the saloon and electric-flush toilets. There's also an Espresso machine in the galley.
