Von Panama kommend sind es sogar 860 nM. Galapagos liegt knapp südlich des Äquators und man erwartet wohl das heißeste Klima auf der Weltkugel. Weit gefehlt. Aufgrund des Humboldstroms ist das Klima ausgesprochen ausgewogen, viel angenehmer als noch in Zentralamerika. Galapagos besteht u.a. aus den drei Hauptinseln San Cristobal, Isabella und Santa Cruz. Wir besuchen darüber hinaus auch Floreana, die vierte bewohnte Insel von Galapagos. Unmittelbar nach Ankunft in San Cristobal springe ich nochmals ins Wasser, um das absolut reine Unterwasserschiff insbesondere den Wasserpass von den Rückständen der einwöchigen Überfahrt zu reinigen. „The hull has to be absolutely clean“ werden wir immer wieder ermahnt. Punkt 4:00 kommt der Taucher und dokumentiert mit seiner GoPro den Zustand unseres Unterwasserschiffes „Super clean“ wird denn auch attestiert und die eigentliche Einklarierungsprozedur kann beginnen. 8 Offizielle von Immigration, Quarantäne, Armada, Polizei und keine Ahnung welcher Behörde fluten MariaNoa. Dank CocaCola und Bier ist die Stimmung gut und alle machen ihre Hausaufgaben. Das Schiff wird inspiziert, Hygieneregeln erläutert, Dokumente ausgestellt.
