Following our couple of days in the north-east of Virgin Gorda where we anchored in Oil Nut Bay, we now arrive to Spanish Town in the south and pay a visit to The Baths, likely the most visited place in all the British Virgin Islands, and for good reason. Where the huge granite boulders meet the shoreline, shallow pools of turquoise water can be found among the rock giants, with endless other nooks & crannies to explore. Wonderful scenery and always fun place to visit. Hey Guys, So the big decision I had to make was whether or not to sell my beloved narrowboat Grayswood. I had to make this decision following an opportunity to buy a 57ft narrowboat. I was visiting a friend who was staying in Aston Marina and whilst we were out walking the dogs, I seen the advert for Grayswood. I said to my friend “that looks a nice boat” and as I said it the marina manager appeared and asked if we would like a look inside. Naturally we did. After looking inside the boat, we made an offer after going back for a second viewing, after some negotiations within a week she was ours pending a survey. She was hauled out the following week and the survey went well. We kept her out on the hard standing for a further six weeks whilst we renovated the insides including fitting a new kitchen and bathroom. Bei der Konfiguration unseres Schiffes stand die Unabhängigkeit im Vordergrund, so waren Energie fressende Ausrüstungen wie eine Klimaanlage und ein Generator für uns von vornhinein ein „no go“. So wurde eine 2 kWp Solaranlage installiert – bisher die größte, die ich auf einer Yacht unserer Größenordnung gesehen habe. Neben der Gelbatterienbank wurde eine Lithiumbatterienbank mit einem 3 kW Inverter installiert. Autopilot, Kühlschränke, Navigation, Computer … alles wird durch unsere PV-Anlage gespeist.
