** NOW SOLD ** Makala is a Beneteau Oceanis 510 now exclusively for sale with YOTI. Launched in 1993 Makala represents an era of production boat building which gave us lasting strength, powerful hardware and sleek and beautiful lines both above and below deck. This example is offered for sale by just her second owner. She was first commissioned for her first owner in Perth, WA. Makala was set up to be a large capacity, comfortable, larger cruising boat for adventures with family and friends. Her current owner, an experienced shipwright, personally delivered the yacht back to Sydney. Makala is the four double cabin version with an additional crew cabin in the bow which doubles as a seriously large storage room. Each double cabin has its own private head and shower. The saloon is beautiful and was clearly designed to be a comfortable space for the full crew. The galley is functional both at rest or underway. Refrigeration is large and there is a separate freezer. The interior is finished in varnished teak and looks great. All main bulk heads are bonded and glassed to the hull giving excellent strength and rigidity. The 75Hp Yanmar shaft drive was installed new in 2007. It is centrally mounted under the island bench so access is excellent. Standing rigging was replaced in 2003 and the forestay and furler were new in approx 2016. The mainsail and genoa have been updated around 2010 and just serviced by Ian Short Sails in 2020. There are two spinnakers plus a spare mainsail. The keel is intelligently a shoal draft version so allows for ultimate exploring of anchorages. Makala was anti-fouled in just June 2021. Raymarine instrumentation includes a chart plotter in the cockpit plus auto-pilot. There is another plotter at the nav station. Makala is an extremely comfortable, easy to handle 50 foot yacht. This is not a vessel that intimidates as some 50 footers can; yet she has all the capacity, comfort and sea kindliness that comes with a larger yacht. With comfort and durability priorities on the design brief, this Oceanis 510 would suit anything from large group sailing to couple adventures. The Elan 40 is a genuine racer/cruiser from the design table of Rob Humphreys and extremely well built by Elan Marine in Slovenia, using modern technologies but with a respect to tradition. Elan Marine whose heritage in boat building dates back over seventy years are renowned for their innovation and quality of construction. Valparaiso was specified from the factory in race configuration, coming fitted with the deeper 2.4m keel, stainless-steel rod rigging, an increased mast height and larger sail area. She is a 3-cabin layout with a J-shaped galley to starboard fitted with a large top opening fridge, 3 burner gas stove and oven as well as twin basin stainless steel sinks. Von der Windsteueranlage über einen Pinnenpiloten auf der Notpinne bis hin zu einem zweiten vollwertigen identischen Autopiloten, der auf dem freien Steuerbord-Quadranten montiert wird. Irgendwann habe ich die Entscheidung getroffen, wenn schon, dann ein seriöses Backup zu installieren. Auf Gran Canaria die notwendigen Bauteile zu bestellen, dauerte dann natürlich seine Zeit – und die Zeit verstrich, unser geplanter Abreisetag nach Teneriffa rückte näher. Sobald die ersten Bauteile eintrafen, begann ich mit der Montage, um zu erkennen, dass die elektrische Verdrahtung mein knowhow eindeutig überstieg. Before we knew it we were signing up for sailing lessons and taking offshore sailing courses. Last year we started looking at boats for sale. Auf einem Hochseetrimaran im Rennmodus vor Gran Canaria. Aus 17 kn TWS macht die Crew um Erwan Le Roux auf der Ciela Village 27 kn SOG. Trotz Ölzeug waren wir durch bis auf die Unterhose. ▬ Über diesen Film ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Wir hatten unser Dingy verliehen. Somit konnte das Team der Ciela Village um Erwan Le Roux unkompliziert und kurzfristig einen Schaden an der Crashbox des Mittelrumpfes ihres Hochseetrimarans reparieren. Als Dank wurden wir für gute drei Stunden zu einer Trainingseinheit mitgenommen. Ein echtes Erlebnis mit solch einem Ungetüm der OceanFifty Klasse über oder eher durch die Wellen zu segeln. Ja, wir haben uns krampfhaft am Trampolin festgeklammert und waren wahrscheinlich schrecklich im Weg. Aber wir alle hatten einen Riesenspaß und Einblick in eine Welt des Segelns, die so sehr anders ist als unsere. Insgesamt 7 Hochseetrimarane nehmen an der ProSailingTour in Brest, La Rochelle, Toulon und eben in Las Palmas GC teil. Die Ciela Village konnte den 3. Im Frühjahr dieses Jahrs erhielt ich die Diagnose Morbus Parkinson. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. **Update** The boat has been moved by the new owner. ** When I filmed and edited this video, all I knew about the boat was what was on the papers on the stern that you can see in the beginning of the video. Those papers clearly state "For Sale $1.00" and also, "Owner: Koehler Kraft." It's become clear that those papers were misleading and that there are a lot of legal hurdles to get through to take possession of this vessel. I advise anyone who wants to take this project on to get a good lawyer to assist them. Please see the information that KKC wanted me to add below. **7/12/21 KKC Update** "The boat is still available to the first person to come and tow it away. Here is what you need to know about acquiring Gypsy for a restoration project: 1. Unfortunately we do not have any space in or out of the water to store this boat. It must leave our facility immediately. The diesel engine is not reliably operational at this time. The boat must be towed away. 2. Any party requesting a complete restoration by our yard, be advised, we have restoration projects under contract that are utilizing all of our resources for at least the next 6 months. A restoration to top condition would cost at least $175k. If you are prepared to contract the work with the yard and post a retainer the yard will facilitate storage options at your expense. 3. The last owner of the boat was not a US Citizen and left the USA. We have not been able to contact him. This makes acquiring a new title difficult. It is a long and costly process that we are not willing to undertake at this time. Whoever acquires the boat will have to to arrange the clear title. 4. Dry storage would be the best option for a do it yourself restorer. There are several inland storage facilities that exist where the boat could be transported. Once moved, the restoration work could be done there be yourself or a contractor of your choice. I would guesstimate the cost to decommission and move the boat inland would cost $4-5k. Inland storage typically costs $1000-2000 / month depending on location. 5. We have not inspected this vessel and make no guarantees as to its condition. It does appear that many hours and money have been spent restoring this boat. There is considerable work to be done. 6. Owning a 50’ sailboat is not an inexpensive endeavor. Slip rent insurance and basic upkeep would be in excess of $2000/month for a boat in good condition. You would need to budget for this and have a minimum budget of $50k in addition to monthly expenses if you were to take the boat inland for DIY restoration. If you are not a lover of vintage vessels do not pursue ownership of this vessel. " **7/8/21 KKC Update** "1. This boat was abandoned at KKC facilities. The owner has defaulted on his contract with KKC and is believed to have departed the USA indefinitely. He is not a US citizen. KKC has exhausted all resources to locate him. There is not a title for the boat, the party who takes possession will be solely responsible in acquiring a title. 2. KKC is not selling this vessel. Any party who assumes responsibility for the vessel will remove it immediately from KKC property. KKC will release any lien against the vessel upon its departure. 3. KKC is not in a position to perform work on this vessel. 4. The vessel is available on a first come first serve basis. The party will remove the vessel promptly at their own expense. 5. Any temporary accommodation of the vessel could be considered by KKC president with the following conditions: -A minimum cash retainer of fifteen thousand dollars will be paid to KKC to be used to dispose of the vessel in the event the owner defaults with any contract or agreement with KKC and or any damages to KKC facilities, property or any third party property. -The owner will pay KKC short term accommodation fees of $2/foot per day. An agreed upon length of stay will increase at a rate of $1/foot/day after the end of term. -Any work performed to the vessel must be pre-approved in writing by the president of KKC -Any person working on the vessel must be insured and name KKC as additionally insured."
