Wind Over Tide On A Spring Tide - How Does My Tiny Boat Do?

With the dark mornings starting to draw in now, we decide to wait for the club launch to drop us off to Welkin. Plenty of time next season to learn how to sail in the dark!!! We set of with a brisk SW wind and head into our first proper Spring tide. Wind with tide on the last of the Flood means we have a lovely flat sail that takes us up to Carmel Head in a whisper. We have a "Ferrari" sail back with the ebb, sailing up to 6.4kts at one stage. however with a growing wind over a growing tide now we need to keep our wits about us as we sail home.
