Sao Miguel is the last Azorian island we will sail to before completing the Atlantic crossing and sailing on to the European Mainland. It's the largest island in the chain and the most popular for visitors. It's the island that has everything .Lakes, mountains, volcanoes, waterfalls and a wonderful summer climate thats warm but not too oppressive to spoil the fabulous hikes that cover the whole of the island. We even manage to anchor next to the small volcano at Villa Franco do Campo and explore by kayak, we knew the Azores were going to be something special but we had no idea just how much.
