We Built Rudders With No Experience...How Did They Turn Out?

18,531 Visualizzazioni· 01/11/25

Last week we started the work on our rudder tangs - shaping and gluing Coosa board as per the advice from fellow yachtsman. But when you're working with new-age tech with mm accuracy like the CNC machine, our novice handywork just simply won't cut it (pun very much intended). This week, we're undoing all of the hard yakka on our tangs and trying our hand at new techniques that will not only make it easier for the boys at Ocean Degree to scan them, but also hopefully lessen the furrow in your brow! Having lived on a steel boat for 5 years, glassing is unfamiliar to us. But this week, we're diving head first into new trades and skills as we finalise the build on our two rudders for this Dereck Kelsall Catamaran!
